After a hard azz day at work,

Me + My lady - Clothes => Shower

Bout 30 minutes worth of hot water in the ol tank. Soak and admire the view.

Last two months I haven't done much more than work from the second my eyes open til the second my head hits the pillow. With settling a family estate and a wife that broke her ankle, there is always something to be done. Ready to get back to riding the mountain bike 1-3x a week, and gym on the off days.

Depends on the day with me really. Beer and or Wine with the lady and something on Hulu or Netflix or Amazon Prime. Sometimes while she cooks I'll throw some vinyl on the turntable.

That sounds like me for the last 18 months. Work at 6am until 8pm or later, 6-7 days a week, then there isn’t much time for anything other than dinner and sleep.

I usually wind down by taking the boat out with the kids or camping with the family but here recently, it seems those activities have been more frustrating than actual work.

No such thing as relaxing for me. When I'm off work, I'm generally running to the soccer field, football field, or pool for a swim meet. It never seems to end, but is a good time. I do love to drink beer and tinker in the garage, but me quitting drinking has taken a toll on that.

How do you relax?
I'm drinking beer and listening to Sublime.
Badfish exactly.
I have everything Sublime has made. Every time I listen to Bradley it takes me back to the days of living at the beach. My day job was lifeguarding, my afternoon job was surfing, and my evening job was smoking weed and drinking. I was an excellent employee.

After work I rarely get time to relax. If I get time it's with a beer on the mower before dinner. Then is bath time and book time with the kiddos. Although my son like to talk about fishing and killing things to eat a lot lately, he's 5. I find those conversations about as relaxing as possible because I try to slow down and take it all in.

Got to wait till the kids go to bed to relax with wife. Which is late enough to go to bed naked

I've almost forgotten what relaxing is. Every time I want to I've got a 3 year old right next to me elbow dropping my nads or telling me to "come here" so he can show me stuff. If I work in the shop I'm literally working as fast as I can so I can get as much done as possible. In the evenings, when there were shows to watch, I'd do that with the Mrs. We'd watch a couple episodes then go to bed. The Mrs and I talked about it a while back but we'd really like to go somewhere by ourselves. I'm not sure if that'll happen anytime soon.

Haha! Glad to hear someone else gets kicked in the D. My 2 year old little boy manages to nail me in the junk at least once a day. I’ve learned to stay on guard.

Recently heard a sermon at church, and then also read an article, that talked about “how busy we are”

Like it’s a good thing to be busy in our minds. We greet each other with how busy we are, it’s a sign of success to be “busy” and if we met someone and they said they were not busy and just been relaxing, then society would just assume they’re lazy or a loser since they weren’t busy.

I am guilty of all of the above, but I’ve been working on trying to be less busy. This thread has pointed out how “busy” everyone else is too. I urge us all to make time to not be too busy and do what’s important. Rather that’s time with the family, or time to yourself.

Alright I’m done playing Dr. Phil....

Bluetooth speaker , couple of beers or some whisky and grilling on the back deck with the dogs.
I liked that comment just to be the first to. A 6 pack of good beer and two hours of Pandora premium ($9.99 a month WELL spent) is the shit. I've noticed with animals that they actually develop a taste in certain music. Have you noticed? It's like matching beer for beer with your best friend, but dogs don't drink. :D

I want that job.

That is exactly why I want to quit my job and do something else for a buck. Problem is not taking a pay cut in the process. I've nearly decided that it's worth it for the time with family and friends that I so desperately yearn for.

Relaxation. A bunch of old vets sharing “life”.

It can happen multiple times too. The other day he would stand next to me while I was sitting on the couch. He'd start jumping up and down then he would do a full seat drop right on the fellas. The only way to get him to stop is to tickle him until he gives up.

It's possible. When I moved I got a good bump in pay and I've got more time off than I've ever had. It won't last forever but I'm enjoying it while I can.

After work for me is 7am, and results in either going to a second job or going home and finding something in the yard that needs doing until supper time. Wife works night shift, so half the time it's an early supper which is usually something quick and easy, and we eat as a family then me and my daughter hang out until her bed time. The other half of the time it's a nicer supper then spend time as a family, then when daughter goes to bed have some time with the wife.
