Anyone here install pools?

If you install or know someone well that I can bounce and couple questions, shoot me a pm.

And hell no, I'm not getting a pool.
We have talked about this off and on for about 8 years. I've talked to numerous friends and coworkers over the years who had pools put in. Not one of them had a good experience or would recommend their pool installer.

To repeat my comment from another thread.
Pools and boats are in the same category - things that are great when they belong to a friend.

I love walking out my back door and relaxing in my pool.

See pool. See surrounding area and landscape. See shade on pool. See no slide. See no funky curvy shape. See no piles of assorted anything pool related but not essential. See no raised deck. See not where 90 percent of everyone else lands. I still don't see me every having an inground pool again.

We're similar in the fact that, Yes, I COULD hire someone to do the things that need to be done. But, I can't justify the expense, and...no one will do it the way I need them to do it. So instead of taking on that responsibility and additional time suck, I'd rather do without.
This is the primary reason I don't have a hot tub, a pool, a boat, or additional wives

I'll stick with my $300 above ground pools. Maintain for a couple years until the liner is beyond repair then buy another. It'd take a lifetime before the cost exceeds an in ground.

Same, huge time suck for no real reward

Now excuse me while I spend the rest of the day installing parts and doing maintenance on my wheeler because I may go bounce it off some trees next weekend

I love having my own pool. Will never own a house without one. If you go with Salt water and get it balanced from the beginning it isn't hard to keep up. I've had a pool at my current home for 12 years and just sold my vacation home that had a pool for the past 4.5 years. With today's technology I can run them from my phone from anywhere - even having the vacuums do the work.

We used Anthony and Sylvan for the builds. As with any construction project there were ups and downs but nothing to deter me from doing it again.

Definitely enjoying the pool last month or so. Believe it or not, Fla gets cold in the winter and Spring was slow to warm up. Thank God. Still only around 90 so far which is not bad while the humidity is still low.

Has been a pain for brother over time, leak around light, sauna section heater is dead, deck is cracking, etc. Typical for one installed in the late 80’s. Pool guy comes once a week to clean.

He and his family don’t get to enjoy it as much as they’d like but I’m in it nearly every day! :)
