Beer Cans

That's actually exactly not what I said. I said you need to smack some sense into anybody you see being a dipshit litterbug on the trail. I said you need to stop looking to the government for a solution to any problem that bothers you. I said that calling the law in to randomly search people and hassle people because you're bugged by some litter is a lazy, petty way of dealing with your problems. I said that the opponents of this hobby of ours would not be appeased if nobody ever abused trails, and that making a personal effort to clean up some garbage is an obvious, simple, responsible way to look good for the sport of wheeling.

Obviously you have never been on NC trails.. I would gather to state 40% of the folks I see on the trail are packing heat.. yes they are carrying.. and I wil be damned if I am gonna start trying to talk sense into a drunk ass hole on the trail that may have a gun..

that is the exact reason i would call the police and have them deal with it.. plus in NC most forest's only have 1 law enforcement agent per park so that means they will not go into the trail system due to the rules state any law enforcement agent must have a partner when entering the forest or OHV trail system.

but they can patrol dirt roads, parking lots, and access roads.. so why not have a checkpoint maybe they can catch the drunk ass hats before I have to deal with them on the trail..

and yes it would be nice to not have to pick up other peoples crap on the trail system..I bet I could probably get in a few more trails per ride if i was not picking up crap all day.."just so I could look good for the green tree lovers"

i filled 5 bags of trash at ure one day. mostly beer cans .
also filled 2 bags at tellico just on one trail .
this kind of bs is making our sport look bad. im all for drinking a cold beer now and then but not while driving. and definately not in a place that could get shut down for littering and ignoring rules. wtf ????

If you don't want trail systems closed down for littering and ignoring rules, maybe you shouldn't raise a stink about it on a public forum. Maybe if we post video and pictures of all the litter and dismantled fences and trail abuse we come across, and stories of all of the gun-wielding drunkard assholes we're afraid to confront without police protection, the opponents of wheelin' and open public land can take a vacation.

im not raisin a stink and im not afraid of shit. im making a statement. im the type of person that will clean up if needed . and i would remind someone in a reasonable fashion what they are doing. usually theres not a problem if you know how to approach someone. i think this post was about a problem and not about whos afraid of who.

I had a trash prob. also. I have 350 acres of land that I let friends and such ride on and they (after repeated warnings) kept littering so I just took care of it and said dont bother to come back if you are to lazy to throw your trash in your rig or a bag. There is no excuse for littering.
