Long story short I've been wanting to do a build thread for my Jeep just been to lazy to make one until now. Hopefully this will also help me keep track on everything that is done to the heep from now on because Im starting to get that CRS syndrome with it.

So for the last 10 years or so I've had this jeep I never really gave it a name. Just because I'm really bad at naming stuff. But the other day in the shop @Chris_Keziah and @adamk and myself were working on the new cage, something happened like cutting a tube a little to short Adam said "that could have been a bad mistake" but ended up working out just fine if not better than planned. Then I said there were no mistakes only "happy accidents" and bam! The name Bob Ross just stuck. Adam got this sticker to commemorate the build. :D

Back in 2018, I started gathering parts for a 60/14b swap. After a few months I managed to get the 60 mostly torn down and brackets dropped. Then started on fabing up the truss. But after it started getting cold outside I just let er sit and didn't do much to it besides getting the old D30 out from under it and selling a bunch of parts off of it.

Last year, March 2019 i think, during an epic wheeling trip to AOP I asked Chris if he and Adam would help me out with the one ton swap on my TJ since they just started a shop called K_squared offroad, now called Rev Limit Fab llc. Cause my limited time and resources would put me firmly on the "jack stand wheelers club" for the foreseeable future. They agreed and with the help of some of our crew they did an amazing job hanging the D60 and 14b off the framerails.

After about a year of wheeling the snot out of it I was getting more and more froggy with the go pedal and driving more by braille because "tons" lmao. Then at the last AOP ride (rattlesnake 2020) I sent it a little to hard over a boulder that I had forgotten was there, and maybe because of some less than stellar spotting by Chris ;) , I flopped it over pretty hard on the passenger side A pillar causing the poison spyder a pillar support to fold like a wet taco and smash in my dash.

Which brings us to the current shop visit where we are building a better "cage." Well it was just originally going to be a simple cage replacement that has now turned into a jeep buggy build lol.

Joe hurry the hell up. Those jack stands have a bad side effect on builds :D

Should be out smashing rocks with a team of four to five people working on it!

I would plate the corners of the cowl while you're at it. They tend to be a weak spot when you start driving like a buggy.

I've hit mine a few time and it seems to hold up well with the lower bracket still on. Likely going to use these on mine and hole saw through them. UCF Caps

Jack stands only have a bad side affect on your and @jeepinmatt rig :flipoff2: Not my fault you work slowly

I need to drop my rig off at Rev Limit Fab. You guys are getting it done!
There's no question Chris is a frigging BEAST

Full time job, then full time fab, AND showing little man how to weld? Yeah its a young man's game for sho

What's even more impressive is you don't see much of what's going on in the "other bay" most times. A lot of the stuff posted is a link/stretch/etc. Typically it's little stuff but stuff that takes up time nonetheless. There's some work flat out getting done over there!

Joe, great thread so far. Pretty cool to see some of the old pics. Can't wait to see the final product! Oh, and that's one bald mfr in the red shirt.

Getting the front laid out. Wheelbase came out to roughly 116" Currently setting it up for 7"up/7" down front, the rear came out 8"up/8"down. Ride height is already ~1.5" lower than it was, we may drop it a bit more and sacrifice a bit of up travel but we'll see. Track bar is a bit tight at full bump with the steering. Still lots of tube work to do.

Bring it on, I'm not the fastest. Still in the phase of working full time and running the shop nights and weekends.

Appreciate the kind words, just living the dream by chasing them.

What’s going on top of the crossmember? That seems like a lot of real estate in front of the motor.

winch plate, radiator, and grill all will be packaged there.

Yes. There is not as much space as it seems. All of those things will be overlapping some so we will have to do some fitting to make it all live there.
