Charlotte meet/greet (1st & 3rd Fridays)

well....
Fri or Sat nights would be a good 'starter' for the night if we got there around 7 ish. If you know what I mean.
Honestly I wouldn't mind starting-up my Fri or Sat night getting some grub and a brew.

SSwaters: Sounds like to me you'd rather be meeting during daytime, right? Should have come out to UNCC in the dark as hell parking lot we met at before. :D

I agree with ya about checkin out eachothers rigs, mines a whole lot to look at!, but it all depends on if its nighttime... that Buff Wild Wing has great lighting considering its in a new shopping center. The Iron thunder and QS&L not so much. Hooters is somewhere in between but parking aint that great.

It may be a good idea to get away from that area a little. I think Joe (H&H's) idea to do it at the BWW at Afton Village is great. There is more parking than you can imagine and the place never seems to be that crowded because its new and in a fairly unpopulated area.

Chris - I hear ya. Might be better to start there... because I do see how trying to get in the Iron Thunder on a Friday might be tough. But WTH - we could just roll over there once the BWW starts to clear out. I NOW know what you guys are saying about some Iron Thunder... great googly moogly.

Also, I wouldn't mind a daytime thing too
Maybe we could rotate, like 1st or 3rd Fridays go to 'X' and on Sundays go out to QS&L since they already got a 4-9 car thing.



I'm still throwin it out there, once we get some good feedback from those interested, we'll decide. Plus I still gotta get back witha few managers.

No, I didn't really mean day if it sounded that way, during the week I work until 6:30 or 7:00. I just mean't I like checking out what people have changed around on their rigs. When I lived in Daytona Beach they had a "truck night" at a drive in that everybody went to once a month. You grabbed a sammich or whatever and peered under hoods and at suspensions and talked it up.

BWW has good parking and a deck. Quaker State has a deck and a dirt lot? Not sure about Iron Thunder - never even been down that side of the road.
 
yeah bww would probly be the best....you got all that parkin at target across the street and they have an outside thing where you can sit and eat and all....

I think BWW is going to be the spot. And yes fellas we can always just roll down weddington road to check out the waitstaff at the iron thunder :D

Now to pick a night...

First lets figure this out, Fridays or Saturdays?

Then we'll nail down a first, second or third or whatever...

BWW is just off I-85 in between Poplar tent exit and HWY 73 exit.
 
I prefer Saturday but can make it to either, and as far as what weekend it also doesn't make much difference to me either. So I guess I'm not a whole lot of help.

I believe the exit is the George W lyles. pkwy. You get off at the exit and go towards the target and Mcdonalds. When you turn in you will be on a long sweeping road that wraps around the whole shopping center. BBW is towards the back so just stay on that rd. and you'll see it on your left.
 
Those nights are cool with me, make it the 1st or last friday/saturday night, easier to remember for old people like me!
 
So I guess its bww, I wish it was during the week but I will make it work for fri or sat. Its going to be a bitch driving my rig up 85 :shaking: but Ill make it. Its going to be nice to put some faces with user names. How am I or we going to know who is who, this is why I wish nc4x4 had t-shirts or something. I see nc4x4 sickers but I never find out whos rig it is. Maybe in the near future someone could work it out..... Anyway whos all it?

Since you're coming from University, you could just roll up 29 onto Speedway (bruton smith) then onto Weddington over to Kann Pkwy.
 
Cool, it'll be like a Charlotte/Harrisburg/Concord/Salisbury/Huntersvile/Lake Norman/add your own town area kind'a meet up.

I don't drive mine on 85 either, can't maintain 65 without being tached out and burning all my oil, just the back roads and 29.

Someone tell that 'yota crowd in the Concord area - it's HUGE, I guess Abernathy would be the one to tell.
 
So July the 10th will be the first of the NEW meet and great in the area right? If so I will tell Abernathy and a few others that dont get on the net much Oh what time are we talking?

BTW - I was thinking 1st and 4th because sometimes months have 5 fridays...Like this one!
unless you guys want to switch something around. Plus I know some of us got our kids every-other weekend... know what I mean.
 
Okay got the call from Karen at Kannapolis Buffalo Wild Wings. (click for location)

She said yeah Fridays are good and they'll block off the parking lot on the side near the outdoor patio and open the side door for us. Plus she said she'd give us a discount too, not sure on what but COOL.

So just to make it simple: 1st and 3rd Fridays????
That means you boys got a week and half to get in gear to show up July 17th.

If this is cool, lets get the friggin long ass post closed and a new one opened up with the 411.

This should accommodate folks in charlotte, Kannapolis, Concord, Mooresville, Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, and I don't see why anyone as far away as Locust, China Grove, Rockwell, Midland and perhaps Albemarle and Salisbury couldn't do it. (except those running big ass tires on beadlocks on 85 :D )

Im def in..... screw the pre marital counseling class, wait is it ok if the class takes a field trip? :flipoff2: Im going to try and get a tag on the jeep for the trip up to concord:lol:
 
Haven't posted here in quite some time..combination of not being 21, not having a sponsor, and life kicking my tail. I'm good friends with John (the one who originally started the meet/greet over at UNCC). I should be able to make it next Friday with out a problem...I'll know as it gets closer. Lost my job last week and scrambling to find another, plus very low funds at the moment might prevent me from making all the meets, but i'll try.

Just to recap...next Friday 7/17...BWW off Kannapolis Pkwy at 7pm?

UNCC_99XJ - don't beat yourself over the head and in your wallet trying to make it out. I do understand some much needed sanity-time however when one is joblesss.

Cool. I do get my final check from work next week..so I should have a few bucks to spare for a meet.

John - No problem dude...i'm gonna get down there at some point and help with the new Jeep build. If you're not back in a Jeep by then you got a seat in mine for the meet.
