Charlotte meet/greet (1st & 3rd Fridays)

How 'bout a north charlotte/concord/kannapolis/huntersville kind'a meet somewhere on Speedway Blvd? Everybody knows that stretch of road, just a suggestion.

that sounds awesome....im down and i know alot of other people who would be too

well I know some history deep in this thread and some peeps may not like the fact that we're even farther out than UNCC.
There was talk of trying to have it somewhere central to everyone.

But here's my gripe: trying to get home and back into Charlotte is not fun. May as well just drive the truck to work and hang out until 7 or so which I know none of us want to do.

On a positive note: I don't really rmbr anyone coming from the Gas-house or D-town or even by the airport.... so coming around 485 would be good for all those that I do rmbr interested in coming out to M&G.... mint hill, matthews, providence peeps and university folks. Keep in mind the state hasn't even finished my section yet - fuckers :)
If y'all are serious about the Concord Mills - Speedway Area for a meet n Greet, I'll go talk to some businesses tonight or tomorrow that have space and will let us hang out like the bikers do at QS&L.

Sooooo once a month or twice a month and Fridays still good? and this may all depend on the business too, if they already got something goin on....

what ya think fellas?

that was me you should have said hello. Zoe you may want to try buffalo wild wing over at the new super target, they have several places over there for us to take over.

alright boys I manned up and stepped up to the plate to tour concord for some beer and handshakes. Hard job but somebody's gotta do it. :p

I talked to the owners/managers of:

Iron Thunder
Buffalo Wild Wing

and am yet to talk to:

QS&L - (main manager not there)
Hooters - (ditto and may no be the place....)

First - I let them all know there could be only 5 or 20 of us. No special treatment... just wanted to see if we had a conflict or even IF they want us there....I also told them it could be once a month or twice

I'm gonna start a new thread and possibly put some votes to it but heres the deal:

Buff-Wild Wing - Tuesdays is wing night and Wed they have the Speed channel broadcasting from there, Thursday is Trivia night. Friday and Sat they got nothing. They would be open to having us come out Tuesday, Fri or Sat.

Iron Thunder - I talked to the owner's wife and she told me that Monday is all you can eat wing night and $5 pitcher night. Thursday is bike night. Wed and Friday is Karaoke and Sat is usually a band/concert night (pretty packed) Sooo Mondays look good, so does Thursday or Friday if we get there before too late.

Quaker Steak and Lube - they didn't have the main manager there tonight but I can talk to her tomorrow. They have an every sunday 4-9 ANY car meetup outside... we may want to add onto.. 'sup to you guys

I'm gonna go ahead and be an asshole and say I like iron thunder because they have decent prices and pool tables. Plus the wait staff is smokin hot. Only drawback is it aint 100% family friendly late-late into the night plus the parking lot is darker than BWW.

I know I know some of you guys gonna gripe about going to concord but this is pretty easy to get to from Harrisburg, Locust, Midland & Oakboro, Mooresville, Salisbury, Albemarle, Kannapolis, Huntersville & Cornellius and points on the east to south east side of charlotte.....

so give it up and let me know what you think.
all you fellas that got peeps OFFline, let em know what we're thinking and I wanna get back to the restaurants somtime this week.

I'd think a night during the week or the thing on sunday afternoon would work best. Friday and Saturday are usually date/movie/eating out nights for most and saturday's people are playing/working/etc.

Plus, I like a place where I can check out other people's rig, like an old cruise thing, while chomping on a cheeseburger. (I did cruise K-Towns "idiot's circle" back in my youth)

I use to go to the meets at uncc, I stopped because it was switched from sundays to friday nights. Anytime during the week is great for me bc the weekends are pretty busy. Let me know if anybody wants to go and test out the drink specials to find the right place for everyone else! Zoe if you need help let me know?

i think that iron thunder is good....its at concord mills wich every body usually goes to anyways....
-tuesdays are lingeria(if thats how you spell it) night and 10 cent shrimp night
-and wed. is all you can eat wings for 8 dollars

I just found this thread and I can't wait till all this gets figured out cause I would love to have a regular meet and greet, but one thing I think might be a problem is the fact that these places are packed every friday and saturday night. I live about 2 minutes from the mills and I frequent about every restaurant over there. It would be really hard for say a group of just 10 or 15 of us to get a seat in a reasonable time, much less together. It may be a good idea to get away from that area a little. I think Joe (H&H's) idea to do it at the BWW at Afton Village is great. There is more parking than you can imagine and the place never seems to be that crowded because its new and in a fairly unpopulated area. This is just my .02 and Im willing to go wherever the meet is so I hope we can get this going soon.

If we decide on Iron Thunder, my vote is Thursday (bikini/chaps night) and $1 beer
