thanks chris, nice meeting you as well. looking forward to the next show and crawl, and you getting your truggy done to hit the trails.

finally got around to weighing the crawler. trail ready with fuel, tools, and all spare parts- 4400 lbs. ;add driver- 4590 lbs. also, with driver there is a 52/48 percent balance front to rear. my original guestimate after determining the unsprung weight was 4300 dry, onlu 100 off. so with same running gear as my old YJ, (UPNOVER II; 5700lbs, no driver) the rig weighs 1400lbs less, plus a gearing change from 4.56 to 5.13. she is so fun to drive fast and hillclimb with!!

but the real surprise was when i weighed jeepn-jason's cj-5 on tons with 42's with 97" wheelbase; his rig weighed in at 4200 lbs, no driver. WTF!!! lmao.

pics from MTN City last weekend coming soon; with the first cosmetic carnage to the buggy so far.....damn rookie co-pilots.....don't tell her i said that. :)

I would not have guessed it weighed that much, even packed down.... Send me all the unsprung weights, corner weights and unsprung corner weights and angles of shocks if you would please sir....

I know your more of a trail ride, rock crawler kind of guy. But if I remember correctly, your steady cornering is better now but on the trail, the feeling of the little bumps here and there could be completely eliminated with a little bit of work....

Now that you've had some ride time, can you explain anything in the actual ride feeling that needs to change?

Really surprised on the weights myself, just think, mines gonna keep getting lighter too, with the rust that occuring on a daily basis that thing should be 100 pounds lighter in a few years haha

MAYJAM TEAM CHALLENGE AT UWHARRIE

this weekend i was asked to help out a team that needed a competitor for the high speed race and rockcrawl race. i was very apprehensive because i didn't intend to race my buggy, my main enjoyment is trailriding. but i was curious on how well it would do. i was on Hugh Paul and Zack Sink's team. i apologize i do not know the name of the team member who competed in the grudge pull. there were 5 events and you could only compete with 4 vehicles. i competed in the high speed course and the rock crawl race. it was a lot of fun, and the competition was exciting. big props to george, john thomas, and chris galloway. Btw, my team won the overall purse, kinda cool to wheel all weekend and make alil money too.

high speed race saturday; i took first on saturday only 4/100's of a second in front of john thomas. sunday john ran a faster time than he did staurday, and i was doing very well against his time but rolled on the second lap.

my wheelbase was much to long for a tight turn atv race course, although a few more horses might get me around it alil faster.
