David, if you come Sturday night, I for one will go on a ride with ya! I am sure there will be others as well. Try your best to get there in time for the raffle, word has it it's gonna be a good one!
Will we be allowed to have a campfire? I still have a good pile of wood on my trailer from missing the Harlan ride..

Good question, I was thinking the same thing. maybe someone with connections with one of the rangers could give a call and find out

Absolutely not, this ain't no Cub Scout campout!
Wouldn't have felt like you missed something if you had ridden with me :)

Bahahah LOL Who was it that got us lost the first day cause they were sissy footing it up the mountain ???????

I really dont know about campfires...sounds dangerous though.
Those woods are as dry as a bone-dog turd.( those white ones)

Camp fires are allowed in the established camp grounds. Arrowhead, Group Camp, Hunt Camp, etc. No fires for primitive camping... road sides or trailside.

Did anyone from CTB look into an alcohol permit for group camp?

No, time slipped away, and someone from CTB said noone ever checks, unless you get a permit. So with that said, you are on your own, just like several others, that i know will be drinking.
Not me, but someone else said....dont ask, dont tell, think Can Koozies, and dont get drunk and drive...or ak-a-fool...We got some Regulators coming from the west!!

The MAIN thing is...If you get cought drinking and get into trouble.....We (CTB) DIDNT SUPPLY OR ENCOURAGE YOU!
But if you read carefully, between the lines..there is a happy conclusion to be found. Just be responsible and safe, so we can keep on having Open invite Caravans.. Thanks, Dylan

Yes they do check... Just hasn't happened on your weekend I guess.

Regulators from the west??? What is that???

I really dont know about the drinking, since i dont drink, but all i know is what i have heard from others. I agree, we should obtain a permit, but im only one voice.

Regulators from the west is just me saying dont get out of line, cause we got some outlaws that will put you back!!! lol lol lol im just kidding about that anyway.

Regulators is from the young guns? Billy the kid movie.

Is it to late to obtain a permit? Probably so, right?

ABSOLUTELY NO ALCHAHOL ON TRAILS OR STATE ROADS AND NONE WHILE DRIVING ANYTIME...ANYPLACE..

I don't post much... but.....
To all those who are concerned over drinking (alcohol consumption) at the Fun Caravan. To the best of my knowledge, we have never experienced a problem connected with moderate consumtion of alcoholic beverages at the Group Camp.
If you wish to have a few drinks in your campsite, I really don't believe anyone will have a problem with it. Keep your cans/bottles in a coozie or otherwise out of plain site. Keep your empties picked up and placed in a trash can/bag. Should you observe any of the Forest Service personel in the vicinity, put your go-juice out of site and show them the respect they deserve. Don't make it so obvious that they have to say something.
Keep in mind that this is a family event, and always has been. We will have spouses, children, grand-children, and other guests at this event. Drunken and disorderly conduct will NOT be tolerated, and I will most likely have a very quick method of contacting the law-enforcement officer should his services be required. Also, be advised that the Head Ranger and her spouse will be attending our event. We welcome them and do not wish to have them leave with a bad impression of the Carolina Trailblazers.
As a final word, anyone who is looking for someplace to get "hammered" this weekend should probably consider an event other than our Fun Caravan.
Absolutely no drinking during the events, in the vehicles, or on the trails.
These are the rules. I have no doubts that the executive board, and the club, will back me 100% on this.
Looking forward to seeing y'all this weekend.

What Don said---- I am proud to say that in all my years out there, that it has never gotten even close to 'out of hand'. One of the reasons that I like CTB. I cant tolerate the hooting and hollering of those that dont respect the folks that will be at this particular event. Want to raise a little fuss, go up to App State this weekend and have all you want!!!

well one of the more $$solinoids$$ i did NOT change with the tranns rebuild is..... you guessed it... acting up, so ill be driving the jeep down... Swapped on the radials so hopefully it will be a little more enjoyable... Ill be headed out in a bit... See yall there 5-6ish..

Just got back from the caravan and got everything unpacked. This was my 1st time at this event, and I had a great time. Will be going to up coming events to have some more fun.

Yeah, was a great turnout, @ 50 rigs registered, for the Annual Dust Caravan :( As those that go to URE know, the dust was, is and will always be bad but this year it was unbearable. Actually made it unfun caravaning on the trails but the overall event was a good time, Dylan had done another great job with the raffle and I liked the addition of the RCs to the competition. BTW, kudos to Beth for a GREAT t-shirt design! Thanks for all that showed up, good to see the faces, old and new!

Big Thanks

A big thank you needs to go out to all members of CTB!! Everyone one of you did a great job of managing the Fun Caravan. Everyone one of you folks were very helpful and a blast to be around...
Dylan did a great job with the prizes again...Alpha Dog, thanks Mike for coming up and donating...we apprecated it!!..i finally won some of that famous glass cleaner!!

Congrats again for a job well done!!!

Brian

Here! Here!:beer::beer::beer:

Great job by the CTB folks for a great time! Dust be dammed, I had a great time meetin' and wheelin' with some new faces.

Great family outing. And a BIG THANKS to the vendors who sponsor and donate to the raffle! Always, a very nice addition!

...and I didn't even turn Yellow Jeep over this time! LOL!!

Scott

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us.
We had a great event this year even with the dust. I have a severe sinus problem going on and cant taste food very well, or breath well, for that matter.
It was nice to put a few faces with screen names.

Thanks to Alpha Four Wheel Drive, who donated our top three event winner prizes. First place received a Mile Marker winch, second received a hi-lift jack, and third place received a really nice tow strap. All the contestants were pleasantly suprised with the prizes as we usualy only give out cool trophies.
In the next day or so, I will post up all of our donors.
I hope all the raffle winners will call or contact the donors and tell them thank you.
Hopefully someone will post some pics for all to see!

Thanks again, Dylan Wiles

I had a great weekend !!! One of the most overall enjoyable trips I've been on some time. The drive down and back (in the jeep) was fun and the weather was perfect for camping. The trails were dry and dusty but most were wearing bandannas or similar breathing apparatus..

I want to thank Alpha for all the great prizes they donated. I won 2nd place overall. (still not sure how that happened!!!). I also won a few others prizes in the raffle drawings. BBQ dinner was great! and it was nice to have showers right there at group camp.

Thanks Chip for the good food and hospitality and the morning coffee was much appreciated.

Good to put a lot of name with faces..
