I don't know dog, there's a harbor freight right next door and they've really upped their tool chest game lately
But they are not in the same ballpark on price:
$250 with no drawers
46 in. Mobile Storage Cabinet with Wood Top
Or $500 with no wood top, but more drawers

44 in. x 22 In. Double Bank Black Roller Cabinet

And the Milwaukee ones at home DEPOT ROCK!

No doubt, but nearly twice the price and no wood top
Milwaukee 46 in. 8-Drawer Roller Cabinet Tool Chest in Red/Black Textured-48-22-8520 - The Home Depot

I thought home depot stopped carrying the Milwaukee tool chests, I went to buy one a while back, and bother northern tool and home depot stopped stocking them....I assumed it was due to competition with their store brands, I heard nothing but good stuff about the milwaukee chests

Kinda hung up that wood top, aren't ya :cool:
Just including facts that influence value. I hope I didn't hurt your feelings.

Honestly I'm rather surprised and disappointed at the direction this thread has gone.

The Rural King one is rated for up to 1k in weight. The HF one is rated for up to 2600# (200# per drawer). The HF one also includes drawer liners. By that measure, the Rural King one is overpriced. :flipoff2:

But seriously, if you're in the market, the 44" box at HF is on sale for $440. There are a bunch of teardown videos of them on Youtube, too.

If you believe Harbor Freight's self published numbers, then you probably believe they "beat" Honda, SnapOn, Milwaukee, and everyone else out there too :flipoff2:

Most of their stuff is junk. I know because I own it. Those toolboxes are genuinely good. The old 26" was garbage and might fall over on you, but the rest are solid.

They actually do "beat" all those other brands.....

As in I beat the shit out of every single thing I buy from harbor freight on the floor when it breaks, and swear never again!

What I have, except years old, & picked up second hand! All I need, plus some shelf space! I can carry this one, with more tools than I need for an off site job. If I need some drills, grinders, or other tools, I just grab what I think I need off a shelf! Yea, I'm a tight-wad.:p

I hope I didn't hurt your feelings

No, but you did offend me. I sent a PM to the admins so they can address it properly instead of inform you personally

It actually looks like a decent deal. The 21 gauge part scares me a bit....
But it fits my need space about right more so than the others styles...tempting

Apparently the closest Rural King is 150 miles away, what is it....is it like an AgriSupply or a Harbor Freight?

Much like @junkxj I have destroyed (accidentally or intentionally) every tool I have purchased at HF, I wander in there once a year, and leave disappointed and pissed off due to the customers, the tools, and the employees.

The Martinsville, VA store should be closer than 150 miles depending on where you are in Raleigh. Its pretty much like Tractor Supply and Bass Pro/Cabelas had a baby.

Like anywhere else, even hf has different grades of tools. If you don't buy the absolute cheapest shit on the shelf, half of it is as high or higher quality as Craftsman or husky. Some really are in line with tool truck stuff, klein, crescent, Irwin, etc.

Rural King put a store here in Morganton, in the "old Wal Mart" location, and they filled it. Awesome pricing an just about everything. When you walk in, you see $8-9 Jeans, great selection of socks, boots, and underwear. Keep walking around to the left you find great selection of hunting stuff, and great prices on weapons, To your left is some really great clothing items, that also have tall sizes in most shirts. In the next corner is all your shop supplies , lubricants and so on Truck boxes, trailer supplies and batteries with prices to beat all auto parts stores. Then you have your tool section to include a lot of name brands. Welding supplies, then your hardware and plumbing supplies. A bold section like no other. All bolts color coated, red, black, green galvanized and so on.. on down is great selection of chain saws, then all your farming needs, on around feed! Feed for everything! I see people with the flat bed carts buying a lot of feed all the time. They even sell rabbits and baby chicks.
Up the middle all kinds of house wares, and groceries.
I am sure I have missed a lot of what they sell. Honestly, my favorite store in our city. Kinda like the old one stop country mercantile, of days past. Except, on steroids!
There is only one in North Carolina so far. People come from far away to shop there.

Best part, this was a shopping center that was nearly a ghost town.
Now, since Rural king has come and generated so much traffic for the location, Harbor Freight moved in, and Big lots too.

So yeah, if ya have the time, and have the needs, it's worth the drive!

I went to the Morganton store for the first time last night. I went to pick up one of the 5gallon Fluid Containers (read gas can). For $20, and comes with the lid and dispensing hose, you can't beat it. I was amazed at all the stuff they had in store, and the low prices. I went at closing time, so I couldn't spend a lot of time, but I'll be going back.

So you are saying it’s Redneck heaven. My favorite store that I’ve found. Everything a man could ever need all in one store.

To be fair, I break pretty much every tool I use at some point. My motto when working on something, especially the rusty crap we have up here, is it's coming off or some things breaking. I still buy hf stuff for the things I know are going to be broken anyway.

I do like their mechanics gloves. They are thinner than the good ones, so good dexterity while wearing them. They are cheap, so I consider them disposable.....

It's kinda like a combination of Tractor Supply, Northern Tool, Gander Mountain, and a country boot and clothing store. But, unlike Tractor Supply, RK actually sells stuff for tractors and even has their own line of tractors. And unlike Gander Mountain, RK is not way overpriced.

They also sell Stihl, Milwaukee, and other name brand tools. Like @obullfish said, it's my favorite store that I've found. Even my wife and kids love it. They also have some quality kids toys made by Bruder and Melissa&Doug. The Bruder stuff is cheaper at RK than eBay.
