Little one that needed to go. Got thursday...

did you take him on some of the gamelands around raleigh or do you have private land up there you can hunt? my cousin and i have found several farms right out side of raleigh that are crawling with deer, i was rather surprised how open many of the people up there were to allowing us to hunt on their land.

Ill take a stab that deer is in the 125-135lb range.

And I bet he was tasty too.
You didnt age his teeth did ya?
Just a curiosity

I know a lot of farmers that definitely don't mind having hunters on their land. think about it, if you are growing a cash crop, the deer are likely eating that crop. the less deer, the more money you get. it's a win-win for everyone

Ive hunted over 20 times this season with my long bow and havnt gotten to take a shot at a deer yet. Ive passed up three possible shots on 8 pointers inside 10 yds because they were on the wrong side of me and Ive been busted by a couple does at around 6 yds. Im not picking up a gun this year until I kill one with my long bow though.

oh i know, back home i have had farmers ask me to come shoot deer off their land. i was just surprised how easy it was to find large tracts of land to hunt so close to raleigh.

Management program in HKY or Alleghany CO? I hunt outside of Laurel Springs on 18.

old thread and yet the O.P. STILL hasnt posted pics of the alleged 10 pointer....

:shaking: He isnt lieing. It was on our farm. Dont even think Ben owns a digital camera.

I have killed one decent buck.....(7 pointer) and have donated a few does off grandads farm to SC hunters for the hungry.

I will not disclose how many, but there is a reason why no processor is allowed to collect license or contact info from donators.... ;)

alleghany we will be having it more than likely in glade valley at the old college not sure yet

Please PM me when you do as i would like to attend.

Ive been 3 times this season with my bow and I saw a couple but havnt had a good shot because it was way to early to even to see my pins. I hunt right outside of Harmony on some private land. The owner has shot 2 does and 1 8 point this season. Im just waiting for my deer:beer:

Anyone know of any farmers/ land owners around the Triad area that would let me deer hunt on their land?

here's a couple my neighbor and his son got the other night.

8pt on the left, 11pt on the right. he said the 8pt weighed about 250lbs! his son (13yrs old) was so excited after he shot the 11pt that he puked right there at the bottom of the deer stand, lol. he was like "Daddy i got the big boy! i got the big..blaeeeah.." all while talkin on the phone to his mom/grandma/grandpa whoever he could call. lol

Still waiting for the shot with my open sight .357 I was soooo close last time, but got busted leaning into the shot. I walked up on a good doe at 30 feet about noon and got a bead on her before she knew I was there. Can only eat one a year, so its sasquatch with my rifle or skinny minnie with my pistol.

I would love to learn how to do this.
To stalk to a deer within 30 feet, dayum you must have red skin blood.

I need the bow down smiley
