That is one thing about go pros that sucks, it looks so freaking flat in the video. It is a damn hike up the thing.

Not sure about where smoke valley comes out. I've tried it once. It had a big banner that said smoke valley after the botg race last year. Next time I'm up I'll be sure to get video of it and I'm sure you'll recognize it.

WAP is a Pro line, this isn't one, this is honestly a good one to try out without a ton of consequences. Honestly its easier now then it has been for 2 years now. 2 years ago it was very different, hell after BOTG this year it was a bit harder then it is now.

One of these days I'll try it. My buddy keeps egging me to give it a shot. I just have to catch it on the right day where I'm feeling froggy.
 
Been looking at face space market place at some 2 wheelers. Is NADA all that accurate or have the folks posting just inflated a lot of values?
Been out of looking and buying a good while. Even when I used to look I always sucked at findings deals or prices....I just purchased what I could afford.

Really Want to avoid being the sucker if I get froggy. Also reallllllly don't want to get sucked into brand new.

My kid is gonna ride and wanna be right in their with him.

Used market has been heavily inflated since dealers ran out of inventory during Covid. Deals are there but have the cash handy and be ready to jump in the truck at a moments notice.

This! People want stoopid money for their clapped out used bikes cause they say they changed the oil and air filter after every ride. I looked for a few weeks for a bigger bike for my son. Ended up having to drive to Mount Airy on 10 minutes notice so I could beat someone else there cause I found a good deal.

Have cash, but a moment's notice is rarely me. I'm always a day late. Takes me that long to spot a deal. And that much longer to pull the trigger.

I've owned mostly bikes I've had to give tlc to keep running or make nicer looking. Really hoping to avoid that and be a little spoiled without buying or paying brand new price tag. Love to find a garaged bike somebody lost interest in or just didn't find time to use. Really want a KTM woods smoker. Harescrambles have been on my mind again. Really liked the weekends and riding different terrains.

Just throwing this out there....You KNOW the rabbithole this opens up. The time suck, the travel, the money. IMHO this it the OPPOSITE of

Because be won't be right there WITH you. As you'll be competing against yourself and others.

It goes against everything that I believe about 2 wheels...but if I were in your shoes and you DID want to be right there with him...I'd get something totally underwhelming for your skillset to keep you right there with him

(me and the boy at Brushy...rode the 230 so it would be easier to stay with him and not get stupid)

Completely get that...he also wants to race. He misses the mountain bike racing and wants to give something with a clutch a go. His last bike was a little XR. He's building a 2011 Yamaha 450 four stroke. He is in for a rude awakening.

That will have similar power to a new 250F but weigh a lot more. He will be fine lol.
 
Well this might be a good time to say I’m WARRIORWELDING’s son and I’m rebuilding the 450:huggy:

With that said I got it put together last night. She runs good at an idle but backfires bad at the first sign of letting off the throttle. 4in flames out of the exhaust. Dummy me didn’t tighten the exhaust where it comes out of the motor too.

I rechecked my timing and that looks fine. Pulled the spark plug and it was really black. Tightened up my exhaust as well. The head was fixed and new intake valves were put in. It’s got a new piston and ring set that I put in too.

This is the first time the bike has even ran in 4 to 5 years. Does anybody have any clue why I am getting this awful backfire? Do I have problems with the injector, timing, etc. Any help appreciated and thanks in advance.

Nice job! It is all about line choice, that hill can be hell or wow that wasn't bad at all, that last ledge used to be a pretty big jump up. I'll have to try to remember to post here next time we are going to ride.

Do you have the dreaded KTM e start not working?

Yeah, I've thrown parts at the E Start but it still isn't working. At this point I think it's the solenoid, but I'm tired of throwing money at it. Eventually I'll get tired of kicking and spend the coin and hope I can get it working.

Once mine is out I plan to drag him away from his computer and get him riding more too. I'll definitely be down to meet up. And he'll be glad to have someone else to ride. How old is yours?
