EDC what's yours and why?

I shot a mag from a G30(?) at the range and gave it back to the girl toting it... obviously she was more man than I! :D
Recoil management is a funny thing. You have the biggest, baddest dude in the joint that can't seem to control the recoil on a certain pistol, but give it to someone who you would think would have issues with it, and they can control it like a champ. Currently working on turning the bends in my elbows toward eachother which would allow the recoil to go in towards my chest instead of up in the air. Seems to help me shoot more flat and lessen how much I need to adjust my sight picture.

So nobody gives any love to Kimber… interesting. I love my Solo and am pretty decent with it on double taps and multiple shots. Crimson trace grips and trijicon sights round it out and it drops right in my front pocket. While there have been multiple reports about issues with the striker fire, I haven't experienced any at all. I haven't shot the hammer fired Micro that replaced it, but I would like to take a look…

Current EDC is a Ruger LCRx .38 in a DeSantis Speed Scabbard with two speed strips in my pocket. If I have to play grown ups and tuck my shirt in or not wear a hoodie, it goes in my pocket.

Ill still rotate in my M&P 2.0 9mm in a Kydex IWB or Safariland 7378 and an extra mag from time to time depending on where I am going. The Kimber Pro Carry is another option as well in a Speed Scabbard, but if I have to carry a 4” barreled gun I’ll usually take capacity over bling.

I’m a glock guy. But like everyone does, you can’t help saying “woah” when you shoot a sig p320.

The 365 was like a micro 320 imho

For vehicles I prefer the sig 320. For range fun as well. For egress I prefer the glock to go pair with the 9mm SBR with glock mags. I keep barrels for varying caliber available too

Like grandpa said. Always have a knife. And a tourniquet for emergency

I can't afford to carry Kimber, but they are nice. Whats the old saying? "You show your Kimber to your friends and your Ruger to your enemies"

I'm not sure I completely agree. I paid 400 for my XD and then roughly 150 for the laser and 100 for trijicon sights. Another 50 for a decent holster brings me to 700. I paid 750 for the Kimber out the door with same specs and a pocket sleeve. Since we're all friends, here's my Kimber...

I carry a Springfield XDS in 45acp, it is small enough to be comfortable and it doesn't print much when I have an inside the waistband holster on my hip. With the smaller magazine it only holds 5+1 but it's a big caliber in a small package.

My G22 is a retired carry sidearm for a local PD. It has probably had 20,000 or more rounds ran through it. I know I have easily 5,000 or more rounds myself.
Just a few weeks ago me and @thebrotherinlaw had a range day at his crib and the ol' G22 was dead on accurate up to the 25 yard range.
I keep going back to a Glock even though Kimber has my eye.

That's a nice looking Kimber. How's weight difference between the kimber and your XD? For me, another important aspect with EDC is weight. That generally keeps me away from wanting to carry a full metal frame design.

I have always loved Kimbers but I have heard quality is not what it used to be.

You use the push/pull method with your hands?

I’m very pleased with the shield .45 weight even with 8rds in! I can carry it on my drs string basketball shorts aiwb and run fine I’m sure that kimber is light tho and it is a nice gun!

@Jody Treadway glocks and crocs just make sense brother... plastastic! Your a big “lanky” guy aren’t ya? how does that g22 fit in ya hand for pinky grip? Well unless ya have normal size hands like some guys our size at 6’4!? Lol

Size and weight are what i love about it. My XD is a sub compact and it dwarfs the Solo...arguably it holds 2x more rounds. Standard mags are 6 and the extended holds 8. I have a few of each. With the small mag, it is smaller than most .380s...

Fits me just fine. My hands are normal size for an ogre sized dude like myself.
Like I said wayyyyy back in the thread, in this season of hoodies and jackets I can conceal it well. In the warmer months I prefer the G43.

lucky bastard and yalls small hands... lol yeah I feel like my shield may be a good 365 carry for myself if I can get the grip right and shoot half ass decent! Lol

AMT 45 Longslide; back of the truck - AK 12 type shotgun with 10 Round Mags for now, I change it around every so often.

Well in general, Kimber costs more than your average Polymer framed pistol. Depending on what Kimber you are purchasing, you are looking at $700-$1000+
Most of your S&W, Glock, Springfield, Beretta, etc start at $400+
I have always wanted a Kimber in my collection, but I think it would be like getting one of my grail knives...I'd never use it! Just look at it and clean it, and pet it and call it George.

It does, but you're not comparing apples to apples. Most polymer frames come with standard 3 dot sights. My Solo came with the fiber sights stock. Granted, I paid more for the model with the CT grips, but still reasonable. Sure an Ultra Carry II is much more than that of a polymer (Glock/XD/M&P/etc), but it is a milled aircraft aluminum frame with a stainless slide and comes stock with fiber optic sights. If you were to upgrade a stock polymer, it will start to add up. They are a little bit more, but not THAT much more considering...

I carry the favorite weapon of tv dads all over the world .....

If I were the type of person to carry anything else it might be a Keltc PF9.
Naysay if you want, but the one I "would" have "would" run mag after mag as fast as you could pull the trigger.
And it would probably make the guys at Pro-Shots mad in the process as proof.
Even If I tried to run Wolf or the aluminum cased garbage.
That is IF I had this mythical beast.
It would be small, light, conceal very easily and reasonably accurate for it's size.
I may even also dream of a lock blade knife ...... large variety to choose from ..... I would dream of collecting them.

I might also be the type of person to even have alternatives to the first firearm ...... if I had one.

Had a PF-9. Verified it would run garbage ammo and never miss a lick. Violent little bastard though. I couldn't get it to group for crap. Traded for tires. So it didnt end up ain't the bottom of a lake with my glocks and ARs on the way to target practice on an island with Paul like the rest of my guns

That’s a very sad story how deep was this lake? No one got damn scuba gear lol I’d been hiring a diver if not when that went down!
