Talk to Dave Whitley at Oliver's. He seems very happy with his. Not terribly long either.

You get what you pay for, plain and simple.

Thanks. ATC's fit and finish was second to none of the ones I researched.

ATC's one of the best you can buy right now. Most friends with drag cars are using them now. Justin @ Trailers of the east coast is good to deal with if you are looking for one new.

I dont even know if they are still in business. But I did a fair amount with Reid's Trailers maybe a decade ago.

They built a very heavy duty trailer, custom built. They werent quick, or cheap, but they were damn good and affordable enough.

They were building open trailers for mounting equipment on, but I've inspected their enclosed stuff as well and it was decent.

It wasnt the most amazing thing ever, but a solid product and another option that hadnt been mentioned.

Depends what you're looking for... I bought a Freedom 7'x12' from NC Trailer Sales in Thomasville... cost me about 3k altogether... works perfect for what I bought it for... couldn't be happier. Just priced a 7'x12' on the ATC website at about $25,000... ATC is really pretty, and probably built better, but I still have $22k in my bank account. Also, I would not hesitate to go back to NC Trailer Sales if shopping for another one of the "cheap" ones.

I bought one of the crap trailers from GA. I drove down and got it and drove across county. I got the upgraded axles and frames. By the time I got back many of the screws for the siding had come out. They were stripped from when it was put together. They were too short. I tried to camp in it and the roof was loose. It made an awful noise in the the wind and when I stepped out water dumped on my from the rain and wind. I took it back and bought a used haulmark.

So here are the basics I learned. Always get a domed roof. A flat roof will eventually leak. A domed roof is much better and quieter.

From other trailer experiences I have learned to get 16" tires if possible. If you need a tire in the middle of nowhere a 16" truck tire will do. A heavy duty 15" trailer tire may take a few days to get.

I went and looked at a trailer sales place in Raleigh and they had the ones from Georgia. Wow what a piece of crap

Thin frame. Crap wiring. Roof was so thin. Plywood floor that had no membrane on ground side. Which means it will get destroyed when wet. I asked what one would cost with bigger axles tires etc. Dude wanted $7 for that crap trailer.

So what I've gathered from people's opinion is if I don't spend 20k+ on a new enclosed, I'm buying a piece of junk that will fall apart and/or leak.

And if you buy anything other than Snap On tools your wasting $ on junk tools that have no real use....

Buy what you want and what you can afford. Just know the weaknesses and work around it. If you use it everyday to make a living, then I can see spending $20k on an enclosed. For the occasional trip with it, most of the cheaper enclosed trailers will work just fine. Just get decent axles and tires.

You can get a Haulmark Edge that's a couple years old for $10k.

This is exactly right. I own one of the ga trailers, but just like a harbor freight tool depending on your use if you don't mind spending the time and effort unfucking it then save the cash and go for it, if you plan to use it for work for 15 years you need to look somewhere else.

I dealt with Dynamite Trailers in Benson, NC. While his are built by freedom in GA he has his own line there. 12" OC wall studs, undercoated, and other differences that he builds into his trailers. I wanted a custom height for our lifted golf carts and side by side 7'6 interior height. Everywhere i spoke with was 2-3 months for a custom height trailer, he put my order in and had it to me in 2 weeks. He was also the best price around me, about 30 mins from raleigh. He probably has 40 trailers on site now ready to go.
