Not an engineer, but I do bitch about them all the time. I'm a Machinist and CNC Programmer.

I try to correct stereotypes like that. Sometimes I succeed. I like machinists, and life is better when you keep them happy, or at least as happy as machinists ever get.

Facilities management is so much worse than sanitation engineer. A janitor just manages trash and dirty floors, facilities manager had to fix everything mechanical while listening to epic whining about 2 degree temp difference making 2 different women miserable

Now I'm just a contractor that fixes all the problems the engineers create and then can't figure out how remedy.

Mechanical engineer by degree. After all that schooling the best education I got was from a machinist at my first job. My dad started his career as a machinist and settled in as an injection mold maker. I've been in a variety of industries, traveled some, and now working for a company that values a broad range of experience. It's something different everyday which keeps me motivated and keeps things interesting.

Yup, especially when it went in 14" lower in the BIM model (Both trades were at the wrong elevation)
