Feeler Thread, what's it worth? 1970 K20

hahaha.

Ive got 3 67-72s currently.
I love these trucks.

He can probably get $1,200 for it if he finds the perfect buyer. More likely its a 750-1,000 truck.
Condition of what we dont know depending.

$2,500 is gas monkey garage crazy money.

Hell we bought a running driving k20 in november and drove it home from GA for $2,200.
The long beds dont bring the crazy money. and that truck needs $3k in sheet metal for rust repair before you pay someone to install said sheet metal.

all that said
If he is patient and wants to part it he can get there....but he will be cutting it into pieces and selling the vin and title for $500 of the total.

It's a rusty old truck that was running a "few" years ago, did you expect a briefcase full if crisp $100 bills to come flying in from every direction?

This is the best comment on this whole post, literally almost choked on my drink when I read it.

Absolutely amazing the number of people who just like to hear themselves type!
Says the guy who posted a "feeler" for sale ad with no price?

Not sure where all the negativity comes from, I was genuinely looking for opinions, I like to price my stuff to move quick, but there seems to be too many keyboard jockies here, puffed up on mnt. dew and skittles to get a genuine answer. Thanks for all the offers of scrap value. Again, I wasn't soliciting offers.
Yes, it is on Craigslist for $2,500....because absolutely everyone refuses to pay asking price, everyone needs a participation trophy and to feel like a winner....

To everyone who expressed legitimate interest, thanks, and please continue the pm's for additional questions or pic. requests.

Too the many people sitting in front of their keyboards saying "I read a guy bought one of those for $5, a can of beer, and had a bj thrown in from the sellers busty wife". Get out there and actually shop for a 67-72 K20 and get back to me about how off my rocker I am.

If running and driving is a deal breaker, it is a couple hours to bypass the tank, clean some points, and soak the cylinders for good measure, I can make that time investment, maybe I will even wash it....then for sure I can double my price!

Have fun guys, someone else will be along shortly that you can needlessly bash, I can't wait to be a keyboard super hero when I grow up.

Truth!

I understand that some people were making offers that were not even close to being serious but on the other hand, if you start off with no pics and then not even a ball park of what you would like to see out of the sale of the truck, you have to expect low offers. Once you put the pics up, its not like they really flatter the truck if you know what I mean. You have a truck that some may want to restore and some may only want it for parts for a restoration project they already have, however the forum you chose to post your query to is an off road vehicle forum and not a classic car/truck forum. The people in here are looking at a rusty long bed truck with a 6 cylinder instead of a v8 that may or may not run and other than the axles, is not really a desirable platform for building into an off road toy. I am not trying to be a smartass to you or further irritate you, but sometimes you have to know your audience before addressing them and in this case you chose the wrong venue. Good luck to you on craigslist or anywhere else you post it, you may actually find someone willing to meet you closer to your asking price.

I was truly interested in the truck....also a 67-72 GM fan (have a '70 Sub for the last 25 years or so).

Bashing & participation award comments indicate that the humor element was lost.

Ditto.

I even sent a PM and said "How much. All the $200 offers are stupid, but I dont think its a $2500 truck either." I sent that yesterday. OP replied "I have a clean title"

Ron, you asked if it had a clean title in your PM, and you stated "it isn't a $200 truck, but it isn't a $2,000 truck"....as the thread was clearly a "what is it worth" thread, it seemed like you already had a pre-determined value for the truck, but you also seemed unwilling to toss out an actual offer, so I answered the only question you asked.

At any rate, all questions have been answered, it is posted for sale on craigslist, and having tomorrow off, I will put in a couple of hours to get it started and yard driving.

I try to look at this forum as a group of individuals with varied interests and needs, in the for sale section I see a cobra convertible, a C4500 ambulance and a 1971 lemans.....so I think most here like to turn wrenches and need drivers, toys, toy-haulers, and an offroad warrior. At any rate, I think I am done with this thread, flame or comment as much as you feel is necessary. The truck is posted, it is what it is, I would love to see it go to someone who will use it as a truck and not cut it into pieces, sadly most people are afraid of being different, I suspect the 3-on the tree and the 250 will be the first things to be pulled.

re read my PM please....

I clearly asked what you wanted for it.
I cant buy it and sell it.

My business partner will be coming through Raleigh tomorrow with a 3 car wedge with an open slot....

It'd shock the hell out of you to know the professions of some of the folks on here....let ALONE the shear knowledge and years of experience.

Having said that, I'll up my offer ......

Lionel, not sure if you remember my old 71 C10 I had or not. Just for reference, it was a survivor truck with only rust in the outer rockers, 350/350 longbed, nice interior, new carb, running and driving and was my DD. Really an awesome truck. Had a brand new set of 17" wheels and all kinds of new parts on it. I sold it for $4k and it really needed nothing to drive. I'd say running and driving it would be worth about $1500 max, probably more around $1250. The rust and overall wear is going to kill the price.

I pm'ed him a fair offer for what the truck is as is.. I was ignored.

Now thanks to you assholes he is going to get 5,000!!

That one is only 2wd though.

What ^ said. Big market value difference between factory 2wd and factory 4wd trucks from back then because 4wd was still kinda a new thing and much less common.
