for the Air Cooled folks :)

I swear I've checked that thing out before. Not a huge vw fan, but that is awesome.
As are those in the first picture.
Do you take it out often?
I drive it on nice days, or if I have crap to haul to the dump or scrapyard or something. I think I drove it up to Morganton a few months ago for work one day...
As for Raleigh mechanics, ask me in person sometime and I can tell stories & give you the lowdown on some of the other ones. Gary I can recommend honestly with clear conscience...
:)

I will tell you this.. I will not go back to Shawn in downtown Raleigh..

I will either have Gary work on it or I will do it myself..

oh ya I replaced speedo cable and took out A/C this afternoon..

once I get a few more mods done I will take some more pics

Bruiser...Im going to keep it untill it falls apart in my garage or fix it up and drive the wheels off of it again. I sometimes get sick to my stomach just looking at it and knowing what kind of condition it used to be in.

TeamSpatula...not me on samba, I never really frequent any forums other than this one and a couple other 4x4 sites. I might check it out when I get back on track and start getting some bugs worked out. no pun intended.

here a pic of the bug I use to own hard times made me sale it

do you have pics/details of the gearing setup? That looks crazy...that little engine turning those big ol' tires...
:)
Tominator - too funny - there's a guy on there in this same area with that name...weird...
but Samba has great forums for all VWs...I spend too much time on there...
