:confused:I'm in a creek buried off a power line trail around Durham. My winch does me no good cause I need to go backwards, and my K5 has been there since Monday. I have tried a 8K come along, a Jeep has tried to yank me out, but I fear I may have to be winched out. I dont know anyone with a winch, or a truck with enough power and traction to free me. The only person I know wants $150 cause he might get his tires dirty. I'm broke at the moment, but would be willing to trade for paint, graphic work, or parts fab. Any help would be appreciated.

$150 is cheaper than a tow truck. If its illegal to go there good luck getting someone on here to help out

Hell, $150 isnt bad, especially considering the person helping you runs the risk of getting a ticket. If my junk was street legal I would drive it out there, but it has to be trailered.

That sucks man, but $150 is better than paying a tow truck AND getting a ticket.

$150 sounds like a good deal.

i can come get you...but my truck with a winch needs the tranny swapped out. bring your own tools.

why cant you winch out forward then winch back accross?

Whts with these people getting stuck in the mud and not using their own winches lately?

Wow I'm impressed. First of all no it's not legal, but not everybody can afford to tow a trailer 150 miles every weekend to go wheel at a park. I know the land owner but you have to cross the powerlines in few places to continue on the trail. Second, I ride motorcycles with a few different clubs, and its kind of an unwritten rule that if you see another rider broken down, you have to stop and help, and give him a phone or a ride if he needs one. I have been called out 20 or 30 times in the past year to winch folks out, and I've never charged a dime, because I knew it would be me one day. To say the least, out of all the phone calls I have made, emails sent, and posts put up I'm not real impressed guys. I'll get it out by myself, and maybe fall in the creek like I did yesterday again, but I hope this never happens to anyone else because people aren't like they used to be.

we're not impressed your trespassing. You fuck up our reputations and cost us wheeling opertunites and cause us to have to buy tow rigs adn drive 150 miles everytime we want to wheel.

That farm land we used to wheel on is closed off every time some jack ass who hears of a place from a friend of a friend and goes wheeling in places they arent supposed to, gets stuck and leaves his car on someone elses land for 3 days.

and there is nobody i wouldnt stop for on the trail. Even AndyXj =)

but heres the deal. if i come out there to help you and barney fife decides to show up i get a $1500 ticket and another "redneck in a 4wd" gets a bad rep and that land that at one point someone had permission to go on gets shut off too us.

Just ask Johnski, he just recently lost a good wheeling spot for this very same reason.

By you doing this is cost ALL OF US dearly. you think we're going to be all warm and fuzzy towards you.

break into a mans house and ask him to make you a sandwich while your robbing him? you going to be un impressed if he doesnt jump to make you happy?

search for thread about the kid who got his landrover stuck at URE.....look at the line of people who stepped up to help. i think in the end, someone from raleigh drove down to swap out his axle for him.

the difference...he was on legal land.

Best of luck to you in getting your truck out, because we all have made bad decisions in the past. If I had a winch or lived in the area I would offer to help, but I live 3 hours away. I would try to call those people that called you to pull them out, because getting stuck wheeling illegally is frowned up on here and its not the best place to ask.

I don't agree with illegal wheeling, and the decision you made was a bad one. But we all make mistakes and hopefully after you get your truck out you will have learned from this one. Again best of luck.

I got a F350 and a built TJ with a winch. I can come Saturday but not before. Just pay for the fuel. Let me know, Im not going to lecture you because I have my own kids.
Just search my name and you will see my stuff. I have been in trouble before (not on illegal land) so i know how it feels.
You will also be responsible for damage and fines. You will have to hook all straps and hooks. Im not getting dirty. Rigs or me.

Holla, if i can be of assistance

just another thought on this topic while its still at the top of the forum section...another benefit of wheeling legally...when you get stuck on a farm land...the land owner has a tractor. i miss those days.

hey uh....i broke into a bank and broke my leg while opening the safe....can anybody break in too and help get me out of here? i'd really appreciate it!

So every body else follows every law but me. Sounds like people are choosing what law to follow, as I'm sure no one ever speeds, not wear there seat belt, or pee on a pine tree(yeah thats not legal either) The point is I know the spot I'm in, I wouldnt wish it on anyone. But I am asking for a hand. If you dont want to thats okay, but dont act like I'm a horrible person for being where I'm at. I've been going to that area for almost 20 years , and I've never had a single problem. I do know the land owner actually. He is a local gang member, and in prison right now for armed robbery. He lives off the money that two cell towers pay him on the land the his grandparents left him. I just happen to think you shouldn't chastise people that are asking for help. BTW I wouldn't have left the truck there for three days if someone would have helped me.

this is going downhill quickly.

speeding isnt a good topic with me either...

and yes, i can garuantee you are in a SMALL minority of folks on this board who wheel illegally.

were you wheeling by yourself? was there no one there to give you a hand at the time. i think i read that you had some jeep try to tug you out.

and really....i gave some helpful advice in my earlier post but i guess you missed it. winch out forward, turn around and winch back.

don't be offended for being chastized on here....you committed a MAJOR offense in our eyes. it's gonna happen. go to a biker bar and tip over some ones chopper. see if a few bottles dont fly your way.

Where are all of your friends that you've helped winch out over the years? It's dry now, take two jeeps and some snatch straps and it's done. How about a picture of the stuck?

I have seen a thread where you were asking for help for a lawyer a few weeks back. I dont think you were chastised. As matter of fact, I tried to help you as well.
Dam, the guy screwed up. I hate for people to come to NC4x4 and talk or type to the same ole 20-25 people. Everybody else has been ran off or to scared to say anything. Its like bickering old people or children. If someone new comes its like lets see how fast we get rid of him.

I actually got asked a couple of weeks ago about my NC4x4 sticker in garner. The guy asked was I a member and i said "Oh Yeah, its a great place". The guy says that it is full of A-Holes. Well i stuck up for it then and in the past. Its getting harder to do when these guys bring up screennames and threads.

How many people on here that talk trash to other people actually have NC4x4 stickers trying to grow the membership. I do on my Jeep, truck, and the wife's Nitro.

The creek is only 8 feet wide, and there is a huge drain pipe across the creek in front. I thought of running the cable under the truck to a tree behind me, but there is hard pack sand behind my rear tires about 2 feet above it. I may break the cable, or something else if i try it. I have never been in a place this bad ever. And my freinds all TJ's, and they cant get enough traction. I have an old 5 ton hand crank winch off a 1950's tractor that would surely do it, but my 2500 dodge with little skinny street tires wouldn't make it through wet grass, and the TJ just gets dragged backwards. There is really no way other than pulling from above and back.

Everytime i read a thread that your in your saying something that makes you look like a DICk. How about trying to add to the forum instead of just filling it with :poop:

The guy was wheeling in the wrong place. YES it makes us look bad and all. We have ALL been there. This thread should be empty unless someone wants to help get him out. All the chatter and posts about whats right and whats wrong is just adding to the fire. He knows he dosnt need to be there. Maybe 20 YEARS of wheeling in the wrong spot is catching up.

Rant off
