HELP? around Durham, I've been stuck for 3 days

The creek is only 8 feet wide, and there is a huge drain pipe across the creek in front. I thought of running the cable under the truck to a tree behind me, but there is hard pack sand behind my rear tires about 2 feet above it. I may break the cable, or something else if i try it. I have never been in a place this bad ever. And my freinds all TJ's, and they cant get enough traction. I have an old 5 ton hand crank winch off a 1950's tractor that would surely do it, but my 2500 dodge with little skinny street tires wouldn't make it through wet grass, and the TJ just gets dragged backwards. There is really no way other than pulling from above and back.

Why can you not winch forward and then spin around to do it again. after three days I would have burnt the winch up trying something. Maybe some pics of the area and anchor points could help with suggestions. I have some rather strong straps that stretch and create a solid pull if you want to try them. The soonest I could be there to help you would be Sun afternoon but my offroad burb is not running right. My towrig may get to it but if it could get stuck I would not even try it. I am roughly 90 minutes away as well. PM me if you still need the help and I will see what I can do.

Man I am no where close or I would see what I could do.
DId ya screw up, yeah you did.
But guess what I have wheeled illegal spots before I knew better as have about 90% of this board.

To be honest, if you have a dude that will get ya out for $150 Id pay it if I was you.
Hell if you are being straight with us and you ahave permission to be back there, call a local tow company they will snatch ya out.

All that failss, Id PM Slade above and beg for help....

RatLabDude speaks the truth. for you .

I have seen a thread where you were asking for help for a lawyer a few weeks back. I dont think you were chastised. As matter of fact, I tried to help you as well.
Dam, the guy screwed up. I hate for people to come to NC4x4 and talk or type to the same ole 20-25 people. Everybody else has been ran off or to scared to say anything. Its like bickering old people or children. If someone new comes its like lets see how fast we get rid of him.
I actually got asked a couple of weeks ago about my NC4x4 sticker in garner. The guy asked was I a member and i said "Oh Yeah, its a great place". The guy says that it is full of A-Holes. Well i stuck up for it then and in the past. Its getting harder to do when these guys bring up screennames and threads.
How many people on here that talk trash to other people actually have NC4x4 stickers trying to grow the membership. I do on my Jeep, truck, and the wife's Nitro.

Agreed...you have to have REAL tough skin to not be run off from here

I'd pay the 150. As for everyone being complete assholes about it werd. Rip the guy alil but we've all done retarded crap in life. I'm pretty sure after 3 days of this :poop: he pretty much feels like a douche already. Pay the 150 and learn a life lesson. Hell if I only had to pay 150 bucks for life lessons I'd be thrilled. I wheeled illegally just about every day in high school out at kemp not too far from where this guy is stuck.......just have to learn the lessons

Pretty sure that everyone here with a winch has been called at 12am at least 10 times by friends that were stuck. I've never once charged someone for pulling them out, even random people out of powerline trails. Certainly can't imagine charging $150. I can't believe you don't have any other friends nearby that own a winch or capable rig? Have you tried digging yet?

And I know what he means about no $$$
He's in a pinch...and if I lived close to him...
I'd be trying to figure out something to do to help...

Are you off of Kemp Road? I know that area well, and while i dont like the idea of wheeling there but i can probably find someone who will winch you out.

Ok im on my way to yank your ass out, meet me in an hour:driver:

Everytime i read a thread that your in your saying something that makes you look like a DICk. How about trying to add to the forum instead of just filling it with :poop:
:

go back to page one. my first response to him was helpful advice, it took him three pages to respond to that.

Wow I'm impressed. .

this is where the dickness started. everyone was reassuring him $150 was a fair price, and that he was going to have a hard time finding someone to come given the risk invovled. he wasnt happy that every one didnt jump to the feet and come running.

had he posted about URE....he'd be out in no time, who doesnt need a an excuse to go wheeling.

sorry im so blunt. maybe someone else can explain it to him in a nicer way.

now that your posting some info we can work with we can help.

Pics are worth a thousand words.

so you are fully in the creek?

have you tried using a snatch block and pulling from a 90 degree angle?

probably with some creativeness with your wince you can get out.

also, can you use a high lift to lift the back tires over what ever the sand obsticle your talking is?

i know you dont want to hear it, but unless you can convince someone to trespass (or provide them with proof its not) then you may have to pay the $150. thats not an unfair price considering that the truck will have to come down the trails and mud to get you and the clean up alone on a tow truck is gonna take someone all evening to do.

shit happens. things break. 4 wheeling cost money. trust me, im all about wheeling on a budget and being broke, but from time to time you have to drop some coin. just be thankful yourr truck isnt somewhere where the locals will set it on fire.

sorry...i just cant let this topic go.

the longer you leave your rig there, the longer you expose yourself to the risk of a trespassing ticket, which is $1500.00. way you options man. how long is it going to take to get someone out there. $150 is not quite as bad as $1500 plus what ever the sherriff's preferred tow truck guy is going to charge you.

BigRed, dont get me wrong here, your posts are worth while, but sometimes your "holier than thou" attitude edges me just a bit. I dont mean that to be caustic, Im just saying that sometimes people make mistakes, and generally people learn from those. Sometimes your outright condescending posts can rub people the wrong way. Like I said, I dont want you to get upset about what I am saying, just see where I am coming from I suppose. I used to be the complete outright idiot on here, but Ive learned alot. Sometimes people just need a helping hand, but a stern helping hand...if you get what I am saying

As for your situation millercustomfab, its going to be very difficult to find serious help here with an illegal wheeling site. Like BigRed said, if it was URE youd be out in no time. I cannot help you personally....but keep up the search and you'll find someone. Illegal wheeling hurts all of us, but learning is half the battle I suppose

I do not see where that is illegal if there are no signs posted then the cops really can't just roll up and give you a ticket.
Also I understand where some of the people on here think it is the right thing to do by cutting you down for doing something like asking for help . What happened to trail etiquette. Just think what are you going to do when all the spots you go now get shut down what are you going to do then ?

I also believe that we all on here should have a no question asked help pull out .

But if he is on a power line trail then it is illegal and can cost you 1500 for pulling him out if you get stopped the trail has to go to a road somewhere and that is when you get the ticket

situation def sucks. I live more than $150 away or I would help.

Heres the deal, Hes got into some trouble and needs some help, I if I weren't 3 hours away, Id take the risk to help. Everyones done this once in there life, So take it as lesson learned. But I am real surprised this is not deleted or moved to the garage yet.

yes you can...just dont hit "submit reply". Its that freakin simple. I think by now that everyone on this board knows you have an opinion about almost everything.

Everyone makes mistakes. I know people that have been in his shoes and DO NOT have the $150. It sucks but thats the way it is. We all F up, he wanted help, not to be chastised for doing something we all know is looked down upon on this board. Hopefully he gets some help and gets that rig out of here b4 someone makes even more of a big deal out of it.

Mac, chromrunner, i understand. no hard feelings from me. I can handle being called out when i'm in the wrong too. i was too quick to get a defensive attitude here.
