13 street legal cars, trucks and suvs and 1 bike since 86 for me and 6 more for my wifesince getting married in 97.

42 vehicles and 3 bikes in 12 years.

All you guys who do this, average 3+ cars per year - ever think about how much you pay the state in taxes and fees?

All you guys who do this, average 3+ cars per year - ever think about how much you pay the state in taxes and fees?

It's kind of like the build cost on my projects, Ignorance is bliss! Adding things up would take some of the joy out of doing it. Like having over $10k in a $2k ZJ over the last three years. As long as i enjoy driving them, it doesn't really matter.

And I'm currently on the hunt for a 70's GM land yacht. Anybody know someone with a big Buick or Caddy?

sure, i could pull up my spreadsheet and tell you exactly how much. i could also tell you how much money i've made buying/selling vehicles. not sure what your point is?

for some people, owning and experiencing as many vehicles as possible is part of the automotive hobby. as is buying ones that might need some work here and there, then passing them on. that's my reasons anyway. it just so happens that i've been fortunate and careful enough in my dealings to offset a lot of the associative costs. i do have a "core" group of three vehicles i'll never sell though.

Bingo.
Tax,Tag,Title costs get added to investment and apssed on to buyer.

I have 3 vehicles that will probably never leave.
1) My 65 stang...too many memories, high school love of my lifes and memeories, and my grandad loved I before he died
2) 77 C10 - My best friend told me it was his curse on his death bed. I promised to keep it....enough said. Its old a long bed and beat all to hell but its mine
3) My K5 it was actually for sale a while back. Same best friend from #2 and me did all the work to it, picked it up together, and the last ride we took together was in this. His pepsi still goes along for all the rides.
