Who are you guys using?
I have been using TWC/Spectrum for years. I am just done with the internet service itself and them raising their prices constantly.

All I need is internet.

Who do you guys recommend?

I pay $65/month for internet-only from spectrum. I wasn't happy Jan 01 with that last increase, 10 or 15 bucks/month...keep us posted here about any other options in Guilford county.

No Northstate in High Point? I’m in Trinity in a rural area with Northstate. Been very happy with them. The few issues we’ve had they’ve been quick to resolve with excellent customer service.

First off, it's not a service, it's a scam. Right now, in my location, Spectre has a monopoly as far as I can tell. I'm very willing to pay a fair price for a needed utility but there should be some type of competition out there!

Been on AT&T for several years. No bundle. Had a promo of $37 / month & 6.0 speed. Lost the promo, rates went up, & I ended up with 3.0 speed for $47 / mo. It's a cable,no fiber here.

Check to see if you can get ISDN, T1, or 56.6 at the house, its the hotness.
That's 57.6. That extra 1k matters!
As in, 4x 14.4, which was the upgrade we got in '95 and WAOH the speed blew my mind!

I pay $19.99/month for Spectrum. Went up a year or so ago from $15/month.

Same as me, you must be a grandfathered Time Warner customer. If you make ANY changes to your service you become a Spectre customer, not a TWC grandfathered customer and the rate is $65.99.

No changes for me haha. They tried to get me to change to 'save money' once, I asked them how paying more for internet would save me money.

Spectrum for me. Every year when the promo dies, I call and cancel. My wife calls and sets it up in her name on her credit card. The next year at the end of the promo, she calls and cancels. I call and set it up in my name on my card. New customer rates every year.
We tried this w/ Comcast. They apparently have a policy that if you had service at the same address within the last 18 months, they consider you not a new customer.
Of course, they apparently are flexible on this for people who are in areas where Fios is available (e.g. they have competition) b/c friends have done it, but not for us where they are the monopoly. Funny how that works.

Can't wait for google fiber to roll up into our area from Charlotte. Local competition should make lots of things better.

Good luck. You can hit the "fiber shack" with a rock from my house, but we've seen no movement from Google fiber in terms of rollout within the neighborhood.

Google has mostly only been successful in encouraging AT&T to bury fiber.

X2 !!

I can see where they have installed infrastructure in my immediate area, but still have no access.

30 days is a new customer.

I called Spectrum last night and basically told them how I felt and they were able to give me 100 mbps service for the same price I was paying for 50 Mbps and I don't have to pay for my modem any more and I supplied my own router. So I am happy with that, but I swear if my bill goes up again (they promised me that it wouldn't...) I am gone.
