Irma

Thought I was prepared, just got word from elderly family that they're on their way up from Florida and will be here tonight. So looks like I'll have 7 more house guests and 3 more dogs. Should only need pick up more flushable/bathing water and toilet paper.

There's no problem with gas down this way...I haven't seen any stations that are out, no big stupid lines, just a price jump to like 2.65 for regular and 2.49 for diesel. I'm just glad diesel is cheaper than regular, like it's supposed to be!

So we are heading to the OBX early Saturday morning I sure hope we can find enough gas to push the TJ from the mountains to the coast.
@josh$$ can help you with a carrier for fuel

No lines or shortage of gas in Mooresville at 530 today. But my Fiance's store in Concord was sold out of water by 10am and daily sales average was almost tripled by 4pm.

Looks like the storm is forecasted to take a more westward path. Looks like you'll be clear of the path if you're at OBX. Then again, the storm hasn't even hit FL yet and this is all based on forecasting.

Ironically I have one kid at UNCW and one at WCU and the one in the MOUNTAINS may get it worse

While I was getting my usual $100 diesel for the work truck [90 gal tank],at the QT, I noticed Premium is $3.09. That's What my pick up is Suppose to run, but I choose regular, to mid grade. Pump cut off at the 100 $ mark, & the $2.59 price cost me 5 gallons volume, from Last week's price. It Do make a difference!

I am just crossing my fingers and hoping my sump pump can keep up. I may go buy a backup from harbor freight just in case I need it.

Local fire Dept called me and asked if I could be put on emergency contact list since I have all the local 6x6's haha. Who needs a snorkel when your factory air intake is already 7-8' off the ground?

I got about a case and a half of bottled water left over from last weekend camping trip, that should do. Should have enough meat in the freezer to last, plenty of canned veggies in the cabinet. Note to self, take something that doesn't need to microwave for lunch Monday, in case we lose power there, because we never close.
