Jonah Michael Proctor UPDATE....Please read my last post

Im updating this with a very heavy heart. Im still a proud father but a preying father.
Last night around 1-2 am, Jonah's oxygen level started to drop for no apparent reason. He was airlifted by Life Flight to Duke around 9am this morning. Jonah made the trip great and now has started tests and help.
My wife kerry is still in the hospital because of pain and not getting artound to great. Im will be at Duke with Jonah until he comes home and yes hes coming home.
After such a great day and evening with him, I dont understand.
PLEASE keep Me, wife Kerry, daughter Samantha and my new son Jonah in your thoughts and prayers. I hope to give updates if i can find wireless service at Duke.
Thanks again you guys are really special for the comments received so far.
One thing is for sure, Jonah is already living extreme like his DAD. He got a helicopter ride when he was less than a day old. Ive never done that before.:driver:
Thanks Again
Mike, Kerry, Samantha, and JONAH Proctor

Second Hand Update

I spoke to Mike just a few minutes ago. Mike and Jonah are still at Duke Hospital. Mike only had a few minutes to speak to a stranger (Me). He has a laptop with him and when he gets the chance - he should be able to connect to the guest network and provide everyone updates.

sorry to hear about the little guy, prayers def going out for all of you.

Well I left Jonah to the very capable hands of his nurse EMILY:beer:.When he got here he was breathing with a respirator and his oxygen was 60-65 not good. I signed consent to do a procedure as soon as I arrived. They use a cather uo his leg vein and used a ballon to open a hole between the two great arteries. Very scared at this time because it was his first minor surgery. It went great and visiting time was over. I came back at 9pm and now he is breathing on his own and has no sedation medication which is AWESOME. Oxygen level is between 85-90 perfect by hisself. Jonah aint giving up. The bad news is. He will have to have heart surgery to repair his Great Arteries.
This is what he has Transposition Of The Great Arteries. Please use Google because I cant explain on here.
Its not simple but the surgeon team here are pros at it and if everything goes to plan then he will be normal for the rest of his long life.
We dont know when surgery will be because Jonah needs to continue on his own for a couple of more days. Next week probably. I will keep you guys updated.
Again we appreciate the comments. You guys know how to make us feel good. Thanks very much for that.
This is Jonah at Duke right now.

We'll be prayin for ya, keep a good spirit me and my son both ended up at Babtist when we were born. He's big and healthy thats a huge bonus compared to some infants.

Man, I know your mind is being worked on right and left. Hang in there and you will be holding that little feller soon! Best of wishes Mike, best of wishes for all of you.

Thanks again.....Hey Brent just for you. No more bad pics. hpoefully he will get some stuff off morrow and look better. He only has three IVs and the rest is moniters. So it looks worse.
Also today thanks to Bfellers on here for taking the time to talk to a stranger (me) and making sure that I could acces Dukes internet.
Thanks Brett
also keep in mind the breathing tube in his mouth is not needed right now. So hopefully that will be gone for a few days until surgery. After today we feel a lot better and see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Well I get to hang with Jonah at 930am so Im off. I get back on later. No phone call from 12-8 am. So that means good news and no change for the bad.
Thanks Chuck I think hes pretty pimping too.

still praying for all of yall. glad things are looking better tho!!

Hey man don't worry with todays modern medicine the little guy will be fine.

I do know how you feel, when my daughter Jianna was born she was flown from Brookings SD to souix falls for heart surgery. The heart valve that works when baby is inside mom didnt close up correctly & she had a narrow artery on her heart also. She has a pencil line scar under her left arm & no problems.

Was the scariest time of my life.

I'm still keeping you & your family in my prayers.
