Jonah Michael Proctor UPDATE....Please read my last post

Mike, hang in there! He'll be fine, those Duke guys have their stuff together, they'll take care of him!

Again, if you need ANYTHING at all, I'm just a phone call away.

BTW, if you ever need a place to crash for the night, my guest room is always open. We're a bit closer to Duke than you are.

Hang in there man and be strong, I'm sure Mom needs you to lean on.
thoughts and prayers are with you, if you need anything let us know, someone here will hook you up...

your just building that fighting character in him....hell when he is playing on the playground and a lil elementary schooler wants to talk junk, "hey man I been through heart surgery as an infant I aint scared of you fool"

just trying to brighten the spirits a bit....

Mike, Hang in there man. Im sure those guys at Duke are doing everything imaginable to make sure he is healthy. Im sure the little guy will be just fine.

Thinking of you guys...

Our son Jonas was born nearly 2 months early, wow what a scary time. Came out fine in long term.
There's only 2 places in NC I'd want to be, and you're in one of them, he will be very well cared for

Good luck, my wife (and me too I guess) was babysitting my 2 1/2 y/o nephew today. Thats the kind of day I wouldn't wish on anyone. :D So watch out in about 2 1/2 years from now, you'll be wondering if it's the same kid :)

He looks good (color, weight, etc), I'm sure he'll be fine. You are all in our prayers.

Thanks again guys. My wife Kerry made today to Duke. She is sore and hurting, but she needs to see Jonah and I need her with us as well.
Jonah is doing fairly well today trying to get stable for surgery. He is very young and sick. Surgery will not happen until Thursday maybey or Friday.
The cardiologists are trying to wing him off certain medications which we are finding out that Jonah likes the drugs (crackhead.....JK). That was tough today because his BP dropped very quickly one time. Luckily his mom wasnt there yet to experience the panic. They fixed it quick and he was fine. So next was a different med and it worked. So they started him on TPN (Gatorade type stuff) tonight.
Hopefully they will start lasics tommorow to help with fluid. Thats about it for today. We are finding out that its going to be a slow process but, we have time.
Also the comments and posts help out alot. I look forward to seeing NC4x4 when I return to our room. Thanks again guys. Ill holla morrow.

Thats gotta be rough man. Praying here that he's okay! Duke is one of the best so I know they are going to work as hard as they can! Keep us updated as you see fit. I was essentially dead when I was born and look where I am now, and that was 21 years ago...now, they can do anything!

Keep the faith man, he'll pull it through!

ya please keep us updated... and if you need anything let us know.. I am sure I and others can help with transportation, picking things up for ya, etc..

Well today was not really a good day for us. Jonah is having a hard time trying to get winged off of his blood pressure medicine. They have tried it three times now in a couple of days. His numbers fall slowly. That is the only medication he is currently on other than fluids.
He is not sedated anymore so when he wakes up, he is pissed for a 4 day old baby. Lots of trying to cry and squirming around which racing his breathing and oxygen count goes down. not fun to watch, also he is getting lasics to keep the fluid off which is working great. Lots of peeing. Finally tonight he got some pain medicine to make him sleep and keep calm.
As a father, I feel helpless as hell because Im his protector. They are still saying that he is doing great and will be fine for surgery. When we left him at 11 30. he was sleeping and doing great.
His sister stayed with us most of the day and saw Jonah a couple of times.
There was a death in the cardiac picu today and that was tough as reality hit us very hard. The little girl that passed had very bad heart problems not similar to Jonah.
We will start fresh in the morning again and hope for a better day.
Thanks Again Guys
Mike

Your family will be in my prayers. If you need anything, please do not hesitate to ask.

hey mike, if any of yall need anything just let me know, im not far down the road. id be more than happy to bring yall bojangles or somethings one evening to give you a break from hospital food.

as ive said before you are all in my prayers.

dang bro. I don't even know ya but I feel for ya.
Last post I saw on this thread was your happy face holding your little one. Now all this. I'm praying for ya.
My little boy was born real early and was in the hospital for weeks. So I know the feelin... but man, I wish ya the best. :(

Well I left Duke today to come home and be with our daughter Samantha. We had a great night her and I. I didnt realize how much i needed it. I havnt slept in our bed since Wednesday so I cant wait. Kerry (wife) called about 10:30 to let me know how Jonah was. When i left he was doing great and still is. This afternoon was the best so far.
I think we are now getting ready for surgery. Jonah is finally off all his medications including that damn Vasopressin that helps with his BP.
The only thing going in him is food fluids, small amount of lasics once in a while, and a small amout of pain medicine to help with keeping him still and sleepy.
Tonight will be the first night that I sleep well because I know Jonah is finally getting stable.
With this, surgery will come in the next few days possibly Thursday if he continues doing well.
Thanks again for the comments guys it makes us feel good.
Talk again tommorow.

Good news. Sleep well. Stress sucks.

Still praying for ya'll

Still in our prayers...but GOOD NEWS...

Hope today has been a better day for the little guy. Still saying prayers for him and you guys.
Richard

mike, left you a voice mail. call me if you get a chance. We had to go through some tough times with our two; mainly the second. It makes some long nights when there is nothing you can do to help. It will work out for the best and he will be home soon.

I will be more than glad to do anything from cutting your grass to bringing you something up there, just call and I will make arrangements. either the shop 3599050 or 2911404. in our thoughts and prayers; see you soon.

My wife and I will be praying for Jonah and your family, I have a feeling he will be out of the whale's belly soon. God Bless you in the name of Jesus!
