Jonah Michael Proctor UPDATE....Please read my last post

check the time of my post, i just got home from work. 1 hour ago i was doing cpr on a 4 month old. when i got in my truck to come home and began to reflect on it jonah was the first thing on my mind. i think about the little guy everyday. i love him, just look at all the good he's brought out of the folks on this board in his short lifetime. an nc4x4 legend and not even a month old.

for what it's worth, the baby made it.
Good post chuck. Seems like you're a hero yourself!

Very good to hear that Jonah is doing better and you are getting to say YEE HAW Mike!!

Side Note...I towed the Bronco to Rides yesterday...I know you had wanted to, but couldnt...since I cant win it...Yours and Jonahs name have been listed as the haulers and will recieve that chance for winning! I cant really do much for you guys, but I can do that. I doubt anyone will mind at all.

Wow, between the posts and a PM. We are feeling good this morning. Thanks guys. Dylan youre the man.
After what I have seen in the last couple of weeks. Chuck you are a special person and a true hero. Babies are not supposed to get sick. When they do thank God there are people like you to help us out. God Bless

I am sure that in this circle of wheelers, we will meet at some point. Lil man and I can compare scars!

Chip...Jonah is waaaaay cuter :flipoff2:

sigh of relief!

Even though I know none of you, the little guy has been in my thoughts. And I am very happy he is inproving. My best and prayers to him for continued improvement and to your family for more of the strength you've already shown.

:)

A quick update with pics. I have been home tonight with Samantha. We left around 430 this afternoon. Kerry stayed with Jonah and samantha has school tommorow.
Anyway, most of the day today was preparing Jonah to get his breathing tube out. That means that he is own his own.
Well about 2pm today his crew pulled it out. So far Jonah is doing great. He is keeping his stats looking great and we are able to hold him.
If he does well tonight, then we will move to a private room by Friday.
He still has the feeding tube, but he will start taking a bottle late tonight to see if he remembers how to eat on his own. If not then he will get his milk through the tube.
We can not beleive how well Jonah has done since they stitched him up.
Ill be back in the morning to hold him somemore.
Thanks to everyone again.

I know Im wearing the same shirt as the day he was born, but its my lucky shirt and thats the reason I was wearing it.

Also, tomorrow at 2 pm Jonah will be two weeks old. Already he has ridden on a helicopter, almost died, open heart surgery, and won the hearts of many pretty young Duke nurses and has done some bad ass drugs as he is on Methadone and valium now for withdrawl from the hard ones. man thats doing some living in a short time:beer::beer::beer::beer:

hard livin' little rock star pimp ya got there....

Great news, and looks like things are headed in the right direction. His got that look in his eyes; I am ready to go home. see ya.

To be honest I got choked up seeing the pics of your family with him and you holding him..

Makes me want to go back home and big my little man a HUGE hug.

Keep fighting little guy we are all pulling for you..

Great to here the good news Mike. I know you and Kerry are ready to breath a little easier.

My son Grayson picked up a rock for Jonah when we were at Uwharrie the other day. He asks every night for me to check on Jonah. We look for updates and talk about him getting better.

As for the rock....whenever we go on trips we always try to find a stream to stop and look for rocks. They have to be special rocks....heart rocks. Only rocks that are shaped like hearts can come home. Grayson found Jonah one Tuesday. He is soaking it to clean it and make it "safe for him so it doesnt have dirty goop on it". He cant wait to give it to Jonah/You.

We are all continuing to pray for all of you.

have a great week.

Thats a great pic. of the family Mike...I did'nt know you had 2 beautiful daughters! Where was your wife? Was she taking the pics?;) Good looking family..looks like Jonah was looking at you saying ''Dad..take off these cords and lets go play''

Just went back and saw the pics (didnt load this morning)...made me tear up a little! Had to be an incredible moment being able to hold him again.

I've got #2 on the way. I know how excited you are to have a new one. I don't post much but I'm keeping up with this thread and am continuing my prayers for the little man and your family. Stay strong and postive.

Thanks everybody, it means alot. Tinman, when Jonah gets home and out your son can give him that rock. That will be special.

Today was a good day, Jonah is starting to eat from a bottle slowly. It will take all day tommorow to get his mouth to train to eat but it will come.
We will be leaving ICU around lunch also. We will get a private room and from there HOME. Possibly late sometime next week.
He is still doing great. Jonah has nasal canula for oxygen and one line for medicine. The next steps are eating, no oxygen help, and getting stronger. I took this pic real quick today on the cell phone while Kerry was holding him.
The only sunglasses I wear are Costa Del Mars, so I had to see if Johna was fond of them as well. I think he will have his own pair. Also Jonah is wearing clothes now which is great.
