But the thief who trips on your rake while breaking into your trailer will. Even if he does not win, it will cost money to defend, thus insurance would be mandatory.

Yes it would need insurance, never said it should not. BTW insurance does not help you defend a case but they will fight to not pay it.

I like the idea. But i live in Asheville and why would I drive across state and pay dues, When I can drive two hours pay $12 dollars and ride all day. Location is key.

One important aspect of all this, and quite honestly the driving force, is the realization by some that in 5-10 years Tellico will most likely be closed completely.

I would agree more than likley in a couple years most public offroad lands will be shut down, due to enviromental people. buying private land and charging to wheel is a good idea. iam sure if enough effort and thought and backing is put into this it could very well work. I know we drive all over the southeast to wheel at many different locations and pay at almost every one them. each place has to goods and bads but we like to go to different places. So having a good private land that isnt under the control of the government and there services is a very good idea.

Just thinking out loud, again...wonder if there is any hope in getting organizations like the NC Farm Bureau (which has it's own lobbyists) to at least support keeping places open. After all they represent landowners (farmers) that DON'T want trespassers like ATV's on their land, and might help support the protection of public off-road land???

Ya, they don't like trespassers like 4x4 trucks, either!
