Lots of interesting news today

Dont donor recipients have to take immunosuppressant/anti rejection drugs after the swap?

I don't know what kidney transplant patients have to take post transplant. I assume there is some type of transplant specific medication, but I don't know what it would do to his immune system. It's obvious that he is already immunocompromised but has managed to beat covid twice so go fish?

based on what? Kidney disease is not an immune disorder.

Dialysis patients have a weakened immune system and are prone to more infection, and are in places like the hospitals and treatment centers where they are more likely to catch something. However I am no expert, just citing what I've been told by people who've had to be on dialysis, but the CDC (who we trust completely ) says the same thing: Dialysis Safety | CDC

Try Jordan Lake. With the high number of unfortunate boating accidents, you could have quite a haul. :D 🤣
based on the stories around here there should be quite a lot of great finds out there

y'all look out

Fuuu......

Yeah, it could get nuts. I work in town and could see the white cloud on my way home. Pretty crazy. I just hope it doesn't blow.
I'd be using the 'Rule of Thumb'. If I can't cover the whole incident with my thumb, I'm backing the F up..

It was smoky this morning all the way over at Meadowlark Middle School. A light to moderate fog level. That’s probably 10 miles as the crow flies?

all that smoke and no talk about what was burning? was the factory made out of wood, is the fertilizer or chemicals are burning? I would think all of that smoke would be bad to breathe.

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around how its possible that little building could actually have 500 tons of amonium nitrate in it. And some places are reporting as much as 650 tons.
In pure elemental form, a sold 500 ton block of that weight would occupy nearly 10,000 cubic feet. Of course in actual particulate form the volume is much greater (2-3x), And then you have packaging, space between packages, and all of the other stuff that should be in a factory. The building just dosn't look that big.
And... why tf would such am immense amount be in the middle of W-S?

A 40x40 building with it stacked 10ft high is 16000 cubic feet. I haven't seen a picture of the building, but doesn't seem that improbable. When they first said the train car had 100tons, I briefly thought that was ridiculous until I realized that's about 4x the cargo capacity of a standard 18 wheeler.

you would think, after what happened in West, Texas or even Beruit, Lebanon the last several years, that should have been a wake up call to maybe NOT have that in the middle of a populated area.
yeah, it would cost to move the operation, the cost of what’s happening or could now potentially happen is even greater.

it’s never that big of a deal…..until it is….

fire dept inspectors should have been all over it. The crap they give a business for even having LP powered machines let alone having them indoors….

And the building is ancient. They don't even have to have a fire suppression system in place. Some things should not be allowed to grandfather.

They may have so much on hand because of supply and demand. Or maybe they bought in knowing prices were skyrocketing. See the lumber thread.
