I have met him but do not know him. I do not follow NASCAR anymore and I would say he is one of the reasons other than mostly the lack of time. To me he's like the Dallas Cowboys, I'll pull for anyone they are playing and the same for anyone racing against him as long as they aren't driving a Toyota. Just seemed like almost every time I turned a race on over the last 10 years he was in the lead. I was a #3 fan all the way.
So, no matter How much JJ Proves himself, The #3 & # 43 guys, hate him! And since, like my best friend, you no longer watch, you miss the PRAISE, Guys like Kyle Petty & Dale Jarrett give Jimmy. As a Newspaper article interviewing King Petty, the questions were about 7 Championships. Petty made it Plain, that he won in his day, & Earnhardt won in His day. And every decade is totally different, there's No comparison. Jimmy has also done the 7, under 3 - 4 different set of Chase rules! #3 7 #43, never had to run the Chase. I'm not a big fan of #48, but I do pull for Hendrick Motor Sports. All My favorite drivers are either dead, or retired, but I still watch Nascar. Remember when Wonder Boy {Jeff} was winning his Big 4, he too got Booed. But Earnhardt actually liked him.

Fixed it for you. I shop lowes but go to home depot for tools because I despise dewalt stuff.
I use to be a fan of lowes, but over the past year my opinion has changed, mainly due to customer service.

I've had a Lowe's card for 20 years. Used to be same distance between Lowe's & HD. But HD has always seemed rundown, & their Lumber used to Suck. Then they moved, & I moved, & now I have 2 Lowe's closer than HD. I haven't done much comparing, due to distance. When I needed a refrigerator, I juts didn't like the Lowe's selection. Bought 1 at HD. Yesterday & today, I shopped for 8' LED shop lights. Lowe's doesn't carry any. Bought from HD, though they only offer on-line site. I briefly checked Grainger's site, & only thing close was CRAZY priced lights!
I'll start doing more comparing between Lowe's & HD.

HD and Lowes used to literally be beside each other then HD moved out. The few times I went to HD I was dissapointed. Now I wish they would hurry up and come back and give Lowes some competition.

I've been in Lowes 5 times the last 2 weeks. Each experience is different. Mostly for everyday items it's pretty decent. Even had the associates load up my 3/4" plywood by hand without question. But, trying to get a quote on cabinets with a layout is like pulling teeth. I gave them a floor plan with cabinets, elevation drawings, etc and they still screwed it up. It's taken months to get even a simple layout and they never call me, I have to call them. Every question they have they want me to come in to answer. It's the first time I've dealt with Lowes on cabinets and it it doesn't change, will be the last.

I talked to them about doing a roof, HVAC, etc and they passed on everything except the gutters. Ugh. No wonder I don't use them more often.

Guys as a lowes store manager and employee I want to apologize on behalf of lowes for the poor customer service u have recived over the last year we went to a new selling system last October and it has been a nightmare. We will be sun setting that system come February 1st and going back to good old genesis. I really hope your shopping experience gets better in 2017. We strive to make our customers love where they live and if there is anything I can do to make your shopping experience better please pm me.

That sounds like what Ballistic says when parts don't arrive when expected or when returns aren't refunded for 4 months ...

And I'm not sure how a selling system causes poor customer service when a customer needs help

One thing I will say about Lowes in Kernersville is they have an awesome young lady that does the cabinet layouts. I sat down with Ashley this evening and she was great at designing a layout that worked and when she couldn't find a corner piece in th color I wanted she suggested in us buying a shell and building shelves in it so we could utilize the "dead space"
If i have a kitchen that is not easy to configure I go see her...and she's not bad to look at for while she plays with the mouse clicker either. :bounce2:

And I also love HD because they carry Milwaukee power tools
That too! Today I looked at the M18 radial saw, mitre saw, oscillating tool, and blower, haha! A battery powered blower. Also, those Milwaukee toolboxes they carry look pretty good for the money. I just hate it because they are good at taking my money.

I've wanted to update my cordless power tools for a while and wanted to go with Milwaukee, but they were more pricey than the Porter Cable Lowes carries. After the Black Friday thread I decided to bite the bullet and start my power tool inventory over and go with Milwaukee...and lowen behold HD had a kick ass set on sale!

Rock city I hate that u had a bad experience with the lowes store u visited. But I can promise u that we are a customer focused company and I will make sure that your opinion is heard by the local market director. As for passing on your install can you please tell why ? Was there structural damage?

Surplus warehouse for your cabinets. solid wood, not veneer and cheaper

We have plenty of vendors and still carry solid wood cabinets in stock plus we have price match plus 10% guarantee on all products. We can even make your cabinets out of recycled barn wood. Guys I have put 11 years in with lowes are we perfect no but we do strive to be.

We have a ProExtra account and our purchased go towards discounts...I THINK up to 20% on purchases. And it makes it easy to track purchases.

And I also love HD because they carry Milwaukee power tools
Not true. HD policy is to give 10% discount to all active and reserve, and disabled vets, and on holidays any vet regardless of retirement etc.
I know for a fact our local store does.

Ours is the opposite. I can find anything plumbing at HD but not Lowes.

Ditto here. The people at our local I've noticed most of the employees have been there for several years too, and they are pleasant and helpful. Always asked if I need help, and they walk me to the place unless they are clearly in the middle of something and I stopped them. Actually a guy told me once their policy was that they were in fact supposed to walk you to find what you need and NOT just point you away.

There was a time when I was in there multiple times a week for probably 6 months straight, many employees got to recognizing me. In fact when Delaney was an infant we had a lot of issues w/ her growth and needing special formula, one of the employees talked to us a lot and somehow the issue of her growth issues came up. Turns out her son had had a similar issue. Next week I was in there she handed me a bag full of a special formula cans she had leftover and had brought in and set aside just for us. We're talking probably $50 worth. After 5 years she's still there and we chat whenever I'm there.
That may have nothing to do with the company per se but it means something.

When I was growing up Lowes was the local hardware store that all the guys went to and knew everybody, they were technically savvy and helpful, you could get everything for a project done there, all the cutting etc. Maybe something has just changed about their corporate culture, I dunno. The one here (different store ,different state, 25 years...) the guys act like you're peanuts to them.
Meanwhile I go to HD and get a 4x8 sheet of plywood and have it cut into like 16 different size pieces and the guy is happy to help, and specifically writes on a piece of paper "no charge for extra cuts."

I really wish HD had a 5% off store credit card like Lowes.

HD not doing military discount is absolutely true. I don't make shit up. Now it may be location specific, but they do not give a military discount in my area.

I really have no choice as there is no HD within an hour. Until HD gets here, lowes pretty much does what they want at expense of the customers. It's gotten worse since HD left town.

I talked to the install lady on the phone yesterday. Here are her reasons:

Didn't want to do a roof because existing roof is tin. They had a rule to not work on a house with a tin roof. When I asked why, she said it's because it covers up too much and there are too many unknowns. It not covered up anymore than a shingle roof so I'm not sure what her point is.

They didn't want to do the HVAC because the crawl space is less than 36". I even offered the attic to install the return duct. Still declined. Their installer is one of the companies I had to come take a look at the system last month. They didn't have any concerns with the low clearance crawl space.

I want new vinyl siding on the front of the house. She considered that a repair and didn't want to do it unless they could do the whole house.

I told her I needed new windows, insulation, and carpet as well but she wasn't really interested in much.

Nobody ever came out to the house, it was just about a 5 minute conversation on the phone.

I got the impression that I was and inconvenience to her. When she called and asked for "Rob", I responded with "this is Rob", her next response was "What's up?" Followed by long silence. I had to initiate the next step in the conversation. It was odd and not really what I expected. I have $60k worth of work and they seemed only interested in gutters.

I'll likely just use the installers they were using anyway as I know them already.

I worked at Lowe's for over a year. The store manager was more concerned with his bottom line and yearly bonus then customer service or taking care of employees. He worked bare minimum crews in every department and would often times have one guy cover several different departments during the week on less busy days. The store is the largest Lowe's in area in sales and sf and maintained ruffly half the staff over other stores. No one wants to work at a place where they are run to hell in back much less deal with people coming in, when they can't hardly get daily chores done

Good customer service is knowing your product and being available when needed. Like said before, most Lowes employees seem to bothered to help. I said most, not all.
I've stood back in the sheet cutting area for 10 minutes listening to the paging system call for help. MOD finally showed up and turned it off, but she didn't know how to run the saw. Guy finally showed up and said he was on break...... really.... no one else could cover you? And they still wanted to charge me after the first two cuts.... ummm not happening.
HD's policy is to walk you to the item and put it in your hands. I guess it really depends on the store, and everyone will have different experiences, but the Lowes of N. Lancaster CS generally sucks, plumbing is usually a mess, items "in stock" on the website aren't in the store, blah blah blah..... I hate going but convenience usually trumps my opinion. I wish I had a local hardware nearby, but again they are 20 something miles away and last time I priced 2x4x96 they were .50 higher....

Double check that. I have an email from a regional manager with Lowes that they do not match surplus warehouse because the cabinets are a different name brand.

Sure Lowes can get solid wood cabinets, but SW wood cabs are cheaper than Lowes particle board ones.

No fucking way I'd buy cabinets from Lowe's. Or a kitchen design house, or anything like that. There are far too many ways for them to cut corners, and it's too hard for you as a customer to close all those loopholes. For a flipper house, maybe. But for anything that you'd want to live in, you can get a better cabinet from a cabinet shop for the same money.

I agree. For an investment property it's not much of an issue for me. It's just frustrating working with them.

This is one of my pet peeves! If you are calling people for your job, that makes you a professional because it is your profession. Whether you are good at it or not, at least act professional. I feel like this is a consequence of the LOL WTF texting generation. :kaioken:
