Yep! It just passed inspection a month or so ago. I drive it every day to the gym or grocery store. Ironically, my wife lost the spare set of keys to the jeep last week when she took it to work in down town Charlotte.

So when are you heading out?

I just dropped it off with Chris May's team and they are leaving tonight or tomorrow morning. I arrive on Saturday.

I was googling something the other night and found a thread from a few years back where Jay was soliciting opinions on whose lift kit he should buy. The one he wanted was like $3k or something... He didn't think he could swing that at the time... especially not if the wife found out about it.

I lol'd. A lot. How quickly things change... and yet stay the same. :flipoff2:

Hahaha.

I've seen a few of my old ones pop up as well, I just wonder if I still sound as noob now as I did back then.

Probably. :D

KOH EMC course map just published:

The rig just arrived in JV, I'm a few hours behind it. First stop is over at the King Coilover tent for a spring swap. I secured a tuning session with Wayne of PAC/Fox, should be one of the best investments yet.

I'll try and update through out the week, hoping for low drama haha.

#fistpumpwhite is hot lapping Hammertown!

Stop by our pit if you get a chance: Head West down GenRight Lane until you smell the Axe Body Spray, then hang a left onto Poison Spyder Place until you catch the gleam of the wax as you dry mall crawler.

So far in the desert I have washed the rig twice and pre-run once. With us running all day tomorrow, I'll have to hit the REDLYNER car wash pretty hard to keep my 2/1 wash-to-race ratio intact.

Here's our pit and view:

Tuning with Wayne today.... the car is a good bit faster, still a little soft, but we gained some speed over several passes in the wash.

Just a few tweaks on Monday along with a full day of course running, then tighten it up for the Qualifying on Tuesday.

Pre-running the course went well, Pre-running the Qualifying course was a different story. We did a good bit of the rock course (Lap 2) with no issues, but I nearly yard sale'd twice on the Qualifying course- can you image all of the Dolce & Gabanna scattered over the rocks?

The good news is we drove out of what would have been a trip ending roll, the bad news is I rainbowed my tie rod into the Spider 9, destroying the steering stabilizer with it. The worse news is apparently I am the only one in Hammertown not running hydro-assist or full hydro, so no one has a stabilizer .

We got the tie-rod pressed back to close to straight and have been running with no stabilizer, so in the end not the worse break that could have happened by any means. We'll see how Qualifying goes tomorrow....

Tie-rod got pushed all of the way into the axle:

Very jealous right now... been watching for years and going to the hammers is definitly on my bucket list.

We ran pretty good, but had 4 wheel drive pop out 4 times (could be driver error on 4lo to hi shifts), and that took up 40 seconds (per our Gopro in cab vid). We smashed an LCA driving out of another roll, but Clayon Offroad stepped up big time with a new one.

The pit crew has been working extremely hard to keep giving me a tuned car to literally just jump in and drive. Today they put in a steering cooler and the control arm, tomorrow will be a little more desert time then tightening everything up. Most important though, I'm maintaining a solid wax to pre-run ratio: 3 trips out pre-running/qualifying and 4 trips through the REDLYNER car wash.

Fist pump brah.

When you get back bring that thing to the shop and we will build you a 7075 tie rod so you don't have to worry about that again. Are you running rod ends or standard tie rod ends. Can't tell from the pictures.

I wish you closer this week, we bent it again today in another spot. Can't thank you enough for that kind of support and offer, looking forward to meeting up and sharing some war stories of the week.

Early reports has me qualified 17th fastest out of 52, and that was after having it fall out of 4 wheel drive 4 times. I'm pretty stoked about the starting position!

We made Poison Spyders promo video too! Check out the 5:03 mark where Team REDLYNER takes the waterfall line. We ran the 4400 course on accident instead of taking the mod class route, but hey, at least we made the video!
