I am looking at some of these shops for some additional storage, mostly for our boat.
These seem to all be about the same all coming out of Mt. Airy.
1. Are they all built the same or are the sketchy ones to steer clear of.
2. Looks like about $36 a square ft with concrete installed with bubble insulation, does this line up with other have seen? (concrete is $10 a sqft)
3. I think i would rather have garage doors vs roll up doors?
4. Plan to do 4ft spacing on structure so it is easy to throw up something to finish inside later (osb or something).

Direct Metal structures is who I have a quote from.

Hit me with any other advice on these buildings.

Still not sure on size, haven't decided how much i want to pay for yet.
 
I'm about to put one up soon. Was going the pole barn route, but decided I wanted it put up without me doing it, lol.

I'm doing a 30x30 with 14' walls. My building is 12,500, but I'm not closing in one side so I can attach it to my existing shop. Concrete guy will be here this morning, but quoted me over the phone, 7300 for a 6" slab so I can put my lift in any location. I imagine it will be a little more since I think I'll need to bring in rock. I don't have a solid on insulation yet.

Building is thru premier metal buildings in Lexington. The tube is also 2x5 instead of 2x2.

I'm in need of a 30x30 pad in the other side of my "shop"...let me know how they do.

That seems to be a pretty good price on everything. Are you using the building people for the concrete or someone else?

Thread 'Building a Shop on a budget...(My Shop Project Build)'

Well it has come time to stop paying money to someone else to have a shop away from the house...
Right now I have a 30x30 shop that I rent and it is about 15 mins from my house but I have decided that I want to be closer to the house and have all my tools close at hand...

The bad news I have a very limited budget due to wedding this Sept and Jess wanting to due a bunch of work inside house..

So here is what I have come up with..

The Plan:
Cut down trees in backyard (13 Pines coming out)
Tear out concrete parking pad to make driveway to shop area
sell shed and get it taken out...

Someone else. He came out Saturday and looked at the property. I'm, most likely, gonna be in another 1500 for some fill dirt and a load of rock for the base.
 
I had one put up last fall. 40x50 with 14'x50 lean behind and a 14x20 lean to out front for a porch. Best advice i can give is go with a dealer you can see face to face not an online company. There are 10,000 "dealers" all selling for the same few "manufacturers". I got a horrible install crew the first time. Building was 3-4" out of square at the top, they hit my area light pole with the lull and knocked it down, broke my driveway slab driving the lull on it even though they didnt need to be anywhere over there. After lots of back and forth and plenty of headache the company sent a different crew who was great. They took the entire building down and scrapped it and built another one. All in all it was a 6-8 week ordeal dealing with it over the thanksgiving holiday and christmas. Im slowly wiring it and finishing the inside as I get time. Go with the 26gauge panels, make sure your concrete guy knows how to do the drip edge so you dont get water inside. on mine the 4' OC trusses were a significant cost difference, i will have shelving and all anyway so i went between and studded the walls out.
