^^^^ as soon as I saw that,I heard Roscoe giggling...the brain is a wonderful thing
Met him when he retired to Hickory, he was all out of giggle. He was known for just wanting peace and quiet when out at resturants and such.
Can't blame him at all.

well, thanks to you,now I've gone from giggling Roscoe to old man hollering about his lawn....think I'll go clean my revolver and forget to unload it.
Actually he carried a stern...Please don't aproach me face....i.e. Resting Bitch face.
I can completely identify as i have third party confirmation of possessing the same.

im a damn near last second merger....cue debate about "zipper merging"
It takes a brave soul to pull that trick off in front of me in my personal vehicles. I think it makes it worse for me since I’m in a work truck most of the time and can’t drive aggressively in it. I’ve put a couple ole #3 do it for Dale tire marks on the side of vehicles that thought they would scare or make me move over so they can get over.

I wont merge over onto you, but I also dont merge a mile early either.
The whole point of zipper is each car on each lane lets 1 in front like teeth in a zipper. It actually early mergers that cause congestion as much as last second mergers.

I battle it every day coming home, road just before my neighborhood goes to two lanes not even a mile off the interstate. Maybe 200 yards before I turn. I will wait some days and others I ride the right lane until forced to merge. Usually try merge with 100' before i HAVE to. My thing is if you don't have your blinker on, no way I'm letting you in. Really depends on my mood.

yes and no. I don't want to try to have to merge or shift lanes right before my exit, so I'll get over a mile or so before my exit so that I don't miss it because I couldn't merge over. I actually prefer to stay away from town (even little Rutherfordton) and dislike driving.

This.

Anti-zipper mergers are people who aren't good at math.
Keeping parallel and merging evenly at the end is always faster for the people in the back.

But this is only true because of assholes that believe zippering is bad.
If everybody would do what they're supposed to you wouldn't have that problem.

Lets face it - zipper merging is the perfect analog for socialism. It's great in theory and should work well, but breaks down because of humans fucking up the system, and then it all falls apart. So the best solution for yourself is to not follow along.

I'm an opportunist merger. I'll get over early if traffic is moving and there is a spot to merge, or look down the row and see if there is a big gap or slow truck that I can easily and comfortably get in front of.

"Zipper merge" is just a trendy term for self important asshat in Charlotte. You can only "zipper merge" if traffic is moving, and the "zipper mergers" are the ones who drive around everyone and stop at the end and then some ignorant fool stops completely and let's them over, thereby further exacerbating the stalled traffic. Then they look out the window and exclaim "zipper merge" while exhaling spent vape juice.
