Motorcycles

I’ve had quite a few bikes and have now been without one for 3 yrs and it kills me. Of all I had and thinking how I’d use one going forward I’m that weird guy that loved my VRods. I hope to pick up another V-Rod Muscle late this year.
I can't hate too much on a v-rod. Great engine and damn they sound good revved up high

Please don't....but please do. I'm a sucker for a 916 or any "now vintage" duc. My dream toy is a fast by ferracci 916. Not the fastest, not the most powerful, but the sound of a 4 valve Ducati with an open exhaust is pure sex.
I had one of the new non duc builds by Ferracci. My old r6 was built by him. A lot of great things he did to that bike.
A few more of the bikes I have had also. It’s over 20 now

V-Rod is the only Harley I'd own. FIL used to have a Muscle, I enjoyed riding it.

That husky supermoto is nice.

Off topic a bit but I was tooling around at deals gap on my k12rs and stopped at the Tennessee end for a quick break. Duder and a few of his friends stopped for a break and he was riding a husaberg supermoto and we got to chatting. At this point in my life I'd never ridden a motard in my life. Dude says take it for a ride. I was like nah I'm good. He says seriously go ahead. Not going to pass up the opportunity I reluctantly climbed on and had the most outstanding 100 or so turns of my life. The braking and nose dives on those small bikes blew my mind. Anywho.. That's my cool story brah story.

I want a good clean 916 just for nostalgia.

The Duc was my best friend Brian's. It was a 95. One of only a few hundred.

We were railing down Squirrel Spur and I was in the lead on my MZ supermoto. He was on his new KTM 990 SM and thought we had come out of the last hard turn, and decided to wheelie. But there was one last HARD 90 and he was at 12 oclock at 60+mph. All I saw was a 40ft black mark that vectored straight off the road right to the edge.

He was down the cliff about 80ft. Died on impact with the 3ft wide oak tree that stopped him. Paramedic said broken neck.

He had sold the Duc to buy that KTM 990 SM

I wish for many reasons he had kept it.

After Brian passed I got the RS. Loved that bike but wife hated it. "Buzzed too much" so I got the RT (so SHE would ride with me finally) she went on ONE ride....and complained too much....didn't keep the RT long after that

That's a tough story to read. As I got older and realized shenanigans like that could take me I slowed my ass down a lot.

My RS was identical to yours. 2004 I'm guessing. Also had a black 1150RT at the same time but it got sold off first. It was just gutless compared to the RS even though the comfort level was 300%

Yup. 2005 we made the trek to daytona where he picked up the Corbin seat for it.

Holy hell what a difference that made! Then on to Key West. I was on my CBRXX1100

I just sold the 701SM about 6 months ago. I had an FS450 and a 701SM at the same time. Now that I picked up the KTM 890R, it honestly does just about everything the 701 did but better, the 701 is like a street sumo that is fun but not great at anything.

I love some sumo's and will have another something like a KTM500 when we move to the mountains.

I picked this up last fall. Honda CRF250L Rally. 350 pounds, very nimble on and off road, 68 mpg, 87 mph downhill, fully tucked, with the wind behind me. Most fun I’ve had on 2 wheels in a very long time. Now if I could just stop buying aftermarket crap for it...

A few of those last corners on Squirrel Spur really do look a lot alike. I was hauling a load of hay up the road the other weekend and a girl had just laid an R6 down about half way up and got stopped by the guardrail. Must have been a slow slide as she was alright and just shaken up. I’d say there is one bike hauled off that road a month. A customer and his riding group go up there a lot and he knows to call if they need a bike hauled home but I seriously hope I never have to do it.

The RC51...sheeeewww. I’d test the strength of my wife’s patience for that one.
