My first engine “build”

Finally received all my new parts and had sometime to put to the transmission this weekend. Everything going pretty smooth so far. Had to pull it apart one time to swap out a washer due to input shaft end play. I had a 50/50 chance and of course I chose wrong.

Short of putting the filter and the pan on, the transmission is done.

Next is to pull this, and clean up the engine bay and wiring…

Ok, the trans needs a refresh while we’re at it.

Yuk! look at all this this residual oil, grease and dirt…

Geez, this wiring is terrible…

WTF! I can’t believe these brake lines haven’t popped yet…

When does it end and I can drive it again!!!

Oh, and any YJ people out there. I had to do some research to figure out what 3” lift was on this YJ. Turns out it was a cheap kit off Amazon as best I can find. And to be honest, after driving from Florida to NC on it, it rides pretty damn good. I’d guess with as smooth as it is, it does good articulation wise as well.
