NC4X4 Hunting and Fishing

I do. 2 hens and a Jake. They're kinda rough, but guess we will see how they do. Figure I'll put the Jake at about 15 yards, hen a little closer. I'm getting softball groups with broadheads at 40, but the closer the better.
the funky chicken is skinny and about 3' or more tall so it's easy for the toms to see it tall grass etc.. When a tom see it's it will run to it and try to beat up.

They have gotten so ridiculously comfortable with us, I don't have the heart to shoot one. They were literally gobbling in my back yard this morning 😂. I'm going to hunt at my buddies Saturday because shooting one of these dudes wouldn't feel sporting ha

Open that window...lay on the dining room table. Pop that sucker in the gourd with a .22 all while your wife is still asleep.....plenty of sport in that!

I'm looking to buy a used saddle setup if anyone has one. Doesn't need to be top of the line, just want to try my hand at it.

Man, talk about hunting in style lol.

Coming home from work and see this in a field I have permission on. You bet I went the half mile home to get a bow and try to sneak around and see if a Tom was around. Did end up calling g to her, and getting some cutting back and forth. But no Tom.

Putting in some food plots for deer. The big rectangle is ~20'x50' and will be a "deer garden" with leftover corn beans and whatever else.

Not sure what to put here. It's in the woods and we'll shaded. Thoughts?

This one is for the boys. About 40 yards from the barn loft. Not sure what to put here either.

Don't they like clover?

Yea I reckon. Got plenty of clover all over though.

Went brim fishing yesterday. The wife loves her crickets, I use red worms so I don’t have re-bait every nibble..lol. Wasn’t on the water 10 minutes and landed a 17” small mouth on a red worm. Who needs a $90k Ranger and $20 lures..haha

Depending on what you have nearby, a water source might be a limited resource?

There's a 20' wide deep creek that wraps 3 sides of the property. But, thanks for the suggestion. That could work elsewhere.

Yep, scratch that...probably wouldn't be worth the effort!

My father took me hunting ducks in Morrisvlle on the Brier creek when I was about 4yrs or '69 riding on his shoulders. He would sit me down on a log and still hunt the ducks in the creek. I still remember him shooting ducks and deer w his shotgun. Cary was a small town and lots of woods around didn't see many deer in the backyard .
My dad turned 86 about month or ago and I went to tractor supply and bought him and some jacked up deer corn,a block and a few bags of corn. Today he sent these pics ........

Also, I'm still in the market for a used saddle setup.
