So how is this going to work, is there going to be a voting thread? Or is someone just going to decide which one is best?

Okay, I should've finished this up and posted it yesterday morning before there were so many other good ones!

Anyway, this was my idea for the front 'pocket' area, at least. I'd re-draw the gear piece to clean it up, but you get the idea, I hope.

Oh and please, pretty please, don't assume pink for 'the girls'. Fitted and not huge, yes, but I'd much rather have the dark blue or OD green. And I can probably still do more push-ups. ;)

around here I'd think "We don't care how you do it up north", but being from Colorado, I like yours better.

This design has a lot of possibility, with some minor changes. As Brent said, consistency of logo for branding. But with the same logo on front and back, this is great because it is a simple design, which is very powerful, and also the arrow pointer both draws attention to the logo, and also ties in with the computer aspect of this group.
My small suggestion would be to change it from the arrow cursor, which just points at random things, to the pointed finger cursor, which points at whatever you're about to click on, which would hint at choosing NC4x4.com.
Some general thoughts, since I'm too busy with other stuff to come up with my own inspired ideas:
general ideas are more appealing. Meaning that if you put a Jeep on the shirt, all Toyota, Ford, etc people will identify with it less, and will therefore be less excited about the shirt, and less likely to buy one. This gets even more true if you put a specific person's rig on there. The design needs to represent everyone, so that we can all identify with it, and will therefore want to buy one and wear it.
I agree with the 3 colors or less for screenprinting, because it gets expensive beyond that, and you can do a lot with 3 colors.
I also agree with printing darker colors - they show mud & grease a lot less. I myself will neither print nor wear white shirts any more.

Finally, once a design is selected, a good incentive to get people to pre-order is to let people pick colors & things like sweatshirts, hoodies, etc, for pre-order ONLY. Certainly you can't afford to carry non-standard things in inventory, but with a little extra accounting up front, someone can buy a ladies medium green shirt, XXXL black hoodie, and so on...
Anyway just some thoughts from various shirts I've done over the years...
 
why is branding so important? Who cares? For me its not a T-shirt for advertisement, it's a public display of something your proud to be a part of. I understand it for a corporation or business, but this is basically an online club. I would'nt let that rule my decision on a shirt. I think it should just be what everyone likes the most, and wants to actually wear. Just my .02
Shoot, I'd be cool with the white gears on the front and Mtns and trees on the back...may not be brand consistent, but its what I like the most.

The board owner pays taxes on income annually...to him it is advertising for a business.

Just a thought.

I have stayed out of the design discussion for selfish reasons, but Rob, you can count on me for a few orders when you decide on one....
 
ok guys, this is about the best badass design I could think of. its got everything I think. with tread and captions web adress and other stuff that I like. I dont think we need to use the skull...we can stand on our own and dont need to leech off pirate.

This is a good one, but like SkyHi is saying, I think the skull is already taken. The star kind of reminds me of American Wheeler.
I like the EST. 2005 (or was that rebooted in 2005 :flipoff2:).
I don't like the hate in saying CALIFORNIA SUCKS, I wouldnt wear it because of this.
