need electrical help please, thank you

And I find it hard to believe that a forum of such independently minded people is so quick to cry foul about wiring a new receptacle in your own house.
Couldn't have said it better myself!

Golly, geez, people, always amazizes me how a simple question turns into 2 or 10 pages or name calling and posturing. I have held my breath and stayed out out of the controversies for far too long. I hold a BSME from NCA&T Greensboro, NC. I have the paperwork to "Nigger Rig" or "Afro Engineer" for the political correct. I can help you with all your mechanical, electrical, nuclear, home vasectomy questions. There is nothimg I do not have a soluation for. Please keep the good people at NC 4×4 out of these silly debates. Contact me and my staff at holdmybeer.com.

When duder frames the question in terms of whether he should use 220V or 240V wire, the response is probably justified.

It's "yer" :flipoff2:

I think the point is it's not his house just a place he is renting

I'm not referring to Fuller, hence why I said "in your own house". He's talking about wiring someone else's house. I'm talking about all of the "OMG it's electric were all gonna die you need a certified electrician for the safety of the children because electricity!" posts.

You OWN the house = pull permits and do your own work, inspector does their thing, all good.

Someone else owns the house = get permission from the owner, hire a licensed electrician to pull permits and work, inspector does their thing, all good.

Anything else is illegal.

As someone who owns rental property, NOBODY but me or someone with a license (that I approve) is doing ANY work on my property. Otherwise, see you in court.

In NC, is a homeowner allowed to do electrical work in a building that is not their primary residence? E.g. the rental they own. I know this varies by state. @Macdaddy4738 ?

@Kamel are you really from Gladys? Good buddy of mine in the military was from Gladys. Not sure where he ended up. Any chance you know Bryan Douglas?
@obullfish

@Paul Just a joke. Sorry to get your red panties in a bunch. Me and my blue bandana will be hangin' ov'er heeya......
