New Member Check In - Post HERE <------------------

Hello all!
I bought a 2000 Jeep Cherokee and absolutely loved it. A week ago, my son remodeled it for me in a rain storm. Luckily, he was not hurt. However, the Cherokee was not so lucky. Totalled... I can't really be mad at him as he loved the Jeep as much as I did (plus, he's my boy after all!)...
So, after looking for another used Cherokee, I ran into a real nice deal and ended up with a 2004 Wrangler. I've always wanted a Wrangler and so did my wife. There ya go! She actually gave me the go ahead to buy a brand new one but I just couldn't do it.
I will probably keep it stock as it's a driver but who knows? I'd like to visit a little off roading anyway and hopefully learn a lot about what happens off the pavement! I did at least go out and put some 31x10.5 BFG's on it so it looks like a Jeep now. But, I'm still a total Noob about Off Roading and would like to not just learn about it but SEE it in person.... That's why I'm here!
Anyway... Hi from Knightdale, NC!

well, come on out to URE April 4th, 5th, and 6th and you can see all you want! haha

welcome aboard!

Newbie to this forum

Hey y'all, new here & computers in general. Recently joined the forum over @ jeepsunlimited.com - Have the same user name there too. Been living in Clover S.C. for about A year now. Currently wheeling A jeep, but used to have A 1978 dodge ramcharger A few years ago, so I'm no stranger to gettin my boots muddy. My jeep is about to get the Centerforce II clutch kit that arrived at my house the other day, along with the smittybuilt XRC8 winch. So I'll be back off the road before you know it! I was hoping y'all would be A little closer to Charlotte, but maybe some of you are. There is quite A few jeeps around here, but I cant find if, or where they hang out at. Starting to get my junk in order, but the lift/gears/35's will have to wait till next year. still the winch should get me through till then. hope to catch up with some of you soon.:wheel:

welcome

I own a jeep, but I lack in the social life so I can not tell you were most of the jeepers hang out. I would recommend looking for anyone with an off road vehicle.. just not jeeps. A lot of jeepers are for talk.. no walk. But if you are determined to hang out with Jeeps shoot me a PM, I know a club (ha ha, I am one of the leaders... don't hold it against me)

spelled checked

Thanks for the reply, purpleTJchick. Not very good with computers yet, so I'm not sure How to "PM" yet. I'm not A( jeep only) snob by any means. It just seems like most people around here, are on they're way somewhere. Nobody really hangs out. That just may be due to the magnificent police force in town. I just got a reply from '\"66bronco. he lives in Clover too, so maybe that will work out. I may have to run out on ya shortly, so don't get upset if I don't get right back to you. Kids want to go to ballgame.

pm is easy, click my name, a box will fold down... and click on the one that says "send a private message" then fill it out like you would a post :D

Hi:
Name's ryan and I am from the Raleigh/Cary area. I'm a volly fireman here and I have a 93 Bronco XLT 5.0. Got a few buddies, all broncos, between here and Wilmington. I've been my buddies spotter for his rig for so long that I thought I should get my own. It's always a work in progress. Also, for those who are in the area, I work at NAPA auto parts part time while I am in school, and the discount on parts is great. Anyhow, thanks for having me!

New to Off Roading

Hi,
I recently purchased a stock 2003 TJ and wanted to try some off road trails.
I can not make it up to Uwharrie this weekend, but I want to go soon to see what the jeep can do.

Can't miss out on a free post. DD is a 99 XJ on 31s and my toy is 94 YJ on 37s. Dana 44 front and rear, 4.10 gears. Custom welded everything: bumpers, rollcage, skids, etc. Did own a 98 XJ on 31s but it was T-boned in December 07.

This is a great forum!

Howdy y'all! (is that proper NC salutation?)
Brand new member here, I host the "Charlotte Jeep Meet Up" here in Charlotte (convenient, eh?), one of our members (Kevin <don't know his NC4X4 handle>) told me about this site and said you had a great bunch of 4X4'ers here, figured I'd check it out
I've been in Charlotte 2 years, before that 9 years in Las Vegas and before that Boston (with a bunch of other places from time to time), I've been addicted to off roading since I bought my '04 Jeep wrangler Unlimited, desert sand, southern mud, northern snow, all the same to me, LET'S GO!

May names Tuc and I new here. I live in Charlotte. I have had a 89 BII for about 4 years and just got a 91 FS Bronco 2 weeks ago. I hope to make a decent 4x4 out of it.

My name's Josh, I live in fort Mill(almost nc). My rig specs are in the sig even though its still being built.

Hey all,
My name is David
I have a 91 XJ. My 3rd jeep. Went to URE yesterday and camped out. This morning I made my first trip there memorable by bending my tie rod into a horse shoe. With the help of a very big guy we were able to straighten it between 2 trees.

I was too lazy to drop the pressure in my tires and tried to bounce:bounce2:it up over a 2 ft rock ledge. I made it but pigeon toed the jeep. Then dropped the pressure and crawled the rest of the way with help from a guy to keep me pointed in the right direction.

Sry no pics. Wish I had thought of it though. It was a sight. The whole ordeal only took about an hour.

Hi all, my name is Micah and I live in Boone. I am new here and just wanted to say hi. I have a 96 zj that's got 33's and a 4.5" lift. Otherwise it's mostly stock, but in progress. I don't get out much, poor single father in college, but I hope to meet some of the local members and make it out to some events in the future. Here is a picture of the jeep flexin a little on the farm.

Howdy !

I suppose I'll be checking in now ...
I'm Foley, 27, and I live in Hickory NC. In case you're not sure where that is exactly ... It's in the Foothills, not far from the mountains.
I'm pretty new to the 4 wheel drive community. Not to say I've never owned a 4 wheel drive, but I had never used the one I previously owned. Well, now I'm ready to put it to use. I don't want to go out and break it, but I'd sure love to go out and have a good time with it.
I have a 1989 Ford Bronco - Eddie Bauer edition. 351 Windsor, 2 inch blocks, 33x12.5's .... maybe even a Dana swap underneath ? I can't confirm that, but that's what I was told. Has a Warn push bar and a Reese tow package. This used to be a Wildlife / State vehicle of some sort, so I'm sure it's already seen action a time or two before.
At any rate, I'd love to make new friends. With or without a Bronco. All I ask is that you're level headed ! No idiots ... please. Preferably in the Hickory area, though I don't see where that would be a must. I'm a family man, and I'd love to interact with other families too.
Take care all.
