Newbie posting in the right spot this time

05' LJ 2.5" HD OME, 32x11.5x15 Cooper Discoverer STT's on stock ravines w/ 1.25" Spidertrax spacers, JKS Quicker disco's, Body Armor rails, Rough Country adjustable front lower control arms, Rock Hard rear bumper/tire carrier, Skid Row trans/oil pan skid.

My family and I moved here (Winston Salem) a few months ago and I’m finally getting around to making the time to get the Jeep dirty again. We moved here from Lake Charles Louisiana in January and we are happy to get away from the stinky swamp mud, sick humidity, crow sized mosquitoes and see some elevation higher than 15ft. I guess you could say I’m just happy to be here.

I’m looking forward to getting out to Uwharrie soon. I’m off work on Sun/Mon so hopefully I’ll get a chance to meet some of you on those days. I just replaced my 32” Cooper STT’s with some 33” Dick Cepek Mud Country’s and I’m working on some additional clearance. I Have some spring spacers I started to install but I’m still a rooky wrencher and I realized I was getting in above my skill and comfort level. I did manage to install the Skid Plate so I guess that’s something. If anyone could direct me to a shop with reasonable prices I’d appreciate it. I called Tom’s Off-road and Kelly’s Bar’s and Grill’s but they want $300 plus alignment. I can’t quite grasp the idea of paying $300 plus for installing a $60 part. If I can’t find something a little more reasonable I’ll give it a shot again. Thanks in advance for any input.

I'll post some pics when I figure it out. I thought I could attach it in the post.

I love my Rubi and can't wait to see her on the other side, I just shipped her off yesterday :(..................but she's goin to a better place! I'll be at Fort Bragg so anyone near there please let me know so we can link up sometime. I'm also looking at a good place or someone that could install some of my stuff, I called 4 Wheel Parts but they seem a little pricey, look forward to havin some fun on here and learning more about my Rubi from everyone out there.

New to Forum

Hey everybody. My name is Mick and I'm new to the forum. I'm from Greensboro. I drive a silver 1989 Wrangler with 34" LTB's. Just wanted to introduce myself.

New from eastern NC / round G-Ville way

Hey yall, I missed the check in part right off the git. Better late than never. My name is Mitch and I am building my first rig. 1994 Ford F-150 4x4 Flareside. I really love to hunt and fish and that's what I was building it for. This is my first one and I already think I made some errors. I am a Police Officer and an hard core bow hunter. I go offroading around Sharon Harris way and Croatan National Forest. I been down around Lake Mattumuskeet also. That's the kind of trails I know for now. I'm real glad to be on this site and hope I can help anyone who needs it. I am currently serving in Iraq on my second tour in Baghdad City. Thanks for letting me join you.

Hi, my name is Pat and I've been involved in off roading for about 4 years now. I recently moved here to NC from Alaska (military). I was involved with a group up there called Arctic Offroad, great bunch of guys that will always lend a hand. My wife and I have two Jeeps right now, mine is a 97 TJ that I've owned since 97 and my wife has a 94 XJ. I have little bit of experience with modding these jeeps and helping friends mod theirs.

Hey everyone. I'm a newbi here at NC 4x4 but my husband (whitey) has been a member for some time. All the other sites I am a member of have been down for awhile and I really miss talking about off-roading w/ people. Hope to be talking with some of you soon and off-roading with all of you even sooner!
