finally got around to picking my new trailer up from kraftsman today. i'm very pleased, it's a quality piece of work. as expected, i already noticed a minor wiring issue though. everything works fine, but the amber side markers come on with the brakes/turn signals. not sure what to do to correct that?

it's first "real" test will be in a couple of weeks going to callalantee. it'll be a test for my bus too, previously i've only towed ~8k with it.

anyway, here's a few pics and the specs:

32ft.x8.5ft. deck
full dimaond plate floor
dual 7k axles
drive over fenders

sweet trailer hopefully my little 5x10 will grow up one day lol

That is one good looking trailer!

looks sweet, very nice to have something that long, however don't get yourself in a pickle turning that thing around could be tedious.

Your wiring issue is probably not an issue they tied your side lights into the blinker, brake wire instead of the common. But they probably did this on purpose b/c your rear brake taillights, turn signals are flush on the back, ie someone from the side could not tell you were turning. It may be the law that a blinker brake light has to be seen from the side.

yeah, that could be on the light issue. good point. you see that on 18 wheelers.

it actually doesn't turn bad at all, i was surprised. i was able to turn it around just fine in the cul de sac at my parent's house with an f350 crew cab/long bed. my bus has a tighter turning radius believe it or not, plus a long over hang behind the rear wheels that helps.

it'll be a monster in overall length though. right around 60ft.

yager: i reminded them about your referral gift card. they had a note on the paperwork about it, and said they'll be sending it now that the deal is sealed.

Astro turf, a 50 yard line, end zone markers and goal posts= portable tailgate play area

not a clue. i'll probably stop at the weigh station on 40/85 when i go to callalantee to get an idea. my guess would be ~4500 judging from the numbers bigassredjeep posted on his. they're the same trailer pretty much, mine just has the added width and full deck.

i was just looking over my paperwork, and it says that the weight is 5k. i don't think it's that much, any one else with a kraftsman that's weighed their trailer know how it compares to their sheet?

My Kraftsman is the same basic frame design as yours, and 32-foot, but it is a gooseneck and is open center deck, without the drive-over fenders and 102-inch wide deck.

Mine weighed at least 3800 empty when I scaled it, (disconnected from the truck of course).

Don't know how the weight of the goose on mine compares to the weight of the extra steel on fenders and deck on yours (your deck has over twice the amount of diamond plate mine has, plus the extra 28-ish feet of 5-inch channel(?) running down each side).

That makes my 20 footer look lioke a utility trailer for a small riding mower LOL. I have to ask how much did that run if you do not mind saying? Great looking trailer, that will be my next trailer purchase a 2 car trailer. Actually I need a 3-car wedge for moving all my crap around LOL.

i'd rather not advertise it publically, i'll send you a pm. i feel like i got a really good deal though. the retail price of the trailer plus options before negotiation was about $6300.

Aircraft Carrier

I thought I was back in Norfolk for a minute ...man that's a True Land Yacht there...How many rigs can you fit maybe 4 jeeps or so looks like

You may need to hire one of those escort vehicles to run alongside

Awesome !!

oh yeah...Don't park it in front of the house...someone may think it's your newly paved driveway...

it'll easily fit 2 vehicles. it might would fit 3 smaller cars or jeeps.

hehe... i'm not sure. our buick wagon takes up a pretty good chunk of trailer. the subuaru and pinto wagons are fairly small though. might get all three on, but i doubt it.

I did a bunch of measuring when I used my 32-foot goose to move all my vehicles from my old house, to see what combos would fit.

That Buick is about 19 feet long. The other cars are 13-16 feet long.

With the goose, the neck limits me to exactly the front edge of the trailer deck, but on your bumper-pull, you can let the front or back of a car over-hang the front of the deck, saving 1-4 feet. (Depending on tongue length and tongue weight for exactly how much you can over-hang the front.)

If you play with the over-hang at the front and rear of the trailer, I don't know what all you could make work - maybe 37-foot total length?

But that's still only the Buick plus one of the other cars, unless you can get creative and drive part of one car onto the hood of the other, or something like that. :)

well, i know the buick will fit on a 14ft. equipment trailer with the ramps up (that's what we've used in years past). still doesn't leave much room for everything else though. putting the subaru in the middle and having the buick and pinto hang off the front/back MIGHT work, but i'm still betting it would be 1-2ft. short. not a big deal, my house is only a few miles from the fairgrounds. 2 trips is better than 3.

what it'll be really nice for is out of town trips taking two trucks four wheeling or two cars to the drag strip. ride together, conserve fuel, have a decent place to sleep in the bus, etc.
