Let's say I'm a hip, happening iPerson. I'm checking out the internet, watching some Polyphonic Spree videos, when I decide to go slum a bit on NC4x4. I see something for sale, and I click the seller's location to see where the hell Wilson is. My iThing opens up a map and shows me. Sweet, it's just down the road. Now, I want to go back to Safari and send the guy a message. If I had the good sense to buy a droid, right now I'd just click the back button. But my iThing doesn't have a back button... In fact, it doesn't have any buttons... Just one little button with a square on it.

So how the fawk do I go back?

Bonus question: if this shit is so intuitive and easy to use, why the fawk am I looking it up on the internet?

On my iPhone, when you click "Wilson" it opens another page. Just go back to the other page. If you push the icon that looks like two squares on the bottom right of the screen it will show all pages that are open. Just pick the page you wanna go back too.

if it stays in Safari but opens a new tab/page, bottom right corner double box, tap once, you get open tab selection, pick what you want to go back too

if it opens apple maps or google maps, you're now in a different app, you click home button and reopen safari,

largely depends on how the defaults in Safari are set up Settings>Safari>Open links- in new page or in background

Hahahahahaha. Never had an IPhone, but you absolutely cannot compare to the simplicity of a Droid. Way to go Shawn.

You could always just hand your iPhone to someone younger than 10. In my household there are three kids that can do amazing things with our iPhones. I spent the better part of a day undoing what one had done in 20 minutes. Mine stays with me now. I debated a Droid when I got my iPhone. The selection overwhelmed my little brain, so I froze up and went iSheep. At least I got a little apple sticker to put on my back window. Doubled the value of my minivan.

OR......you can grab 2 fingers and place them on the screen and swipe to the left and it will take you back to the last thing that you were looking at, whether its nc4x4, youtube, weatherchannel, whatever....use it on my ipad all the time instead of having to hit the home button and re-open whatever I was last in.

simple.. Double click the big round button on the bottom of phone and it will show you all the apps that are open, scroll to safari and click on it.. it will take you back to where you were.

If you install tapatalk you can set it to open inside tapatalk which then lets you click a back button to where you last browsing..

Actually let me offer real help.

Go to the itunes app store thingy.

Search CHROME
Download what you find that is published by Goog Inc.

Replace Safari with this new app.
Next Goog Maps (This one will be tougher...you will have to find old .apl as goog blocked it)

Now you are getting closer to the droid experience in a more expense piece of hardware.

When you do this normal action it will open a new chrome tab.

are you browsing NC4x4 in safari or using tapatalk? If tapatalk, like th eother guys said, bottom home button and relaunch Safari.

If in safari, you can slide the current window left or right to go forward or back in subsequent browsed pages.

Winner. This amounts to a "back" button. The other options listed above do not.

I've got a hard enough time making normal functions work just touching the screen where it's suppose to work. Most finger swipes for me require multiple tries and frustration, my fingers are too dry or cracked or wtf ever

Just typing this took multiple attempts and verifying that spell check did its job. I seriously doubt I'd have better luck on any other touch screen device without the same issues

One thing I have noticed is those that have Windows engrained into their being will let vey little sway them from trying something else, there are as many Windows Sheeple as there are Apple Sheeple both have their issues and attributes.

Yep, I have all Apple machines, they have worked well for me, they've had their issues hardware and software, but I've never found myself beating my head against the wall trying to figure out a stupid issue like I did when I had a windows machine (which was my first computer)

Others I'm sure have had their own issues, with either or both, use what works for you, fawk the haters.

Says the guy that only has one operating system in his house.

I'm with blkvoodoo. The android phones come out every other week with new finagled features and all, but in reality when you buy an apple product you are paying for something that has more reliability and has been proven to work. My last two android phones probably had more features than my iphone but the amount of problems (freezing, bootloops, force closes) far outweighs the benefits of a couple "cool" features. I haven't found anything I needed to do with my iphone except the weak ass bluetooth stack that won't allow me to connect to my obd module. I've had zero problems with my iphone and have had it about a year next week. That's more than I can say for any android phone I've ever had and also my friends, girlfriends, family whatever.

In order to play videos on the iPad, we had to change to a Canadian time zone.

True story.

How do you have such a hard time with this ?

I'm literally a computer idiot ( maybe just an idiot in general ? ) and have zero issue making this stuff work.
