I see this basically everyday. Someone worthless will park right in front of the fire lane usually at a grocery store and get out and lock their car and go in and shop....normally its younger, healthy looking folk. or like today...I see some dude pull up in a crown vic park right into a handicap space and no tag was placed around the mirror and he was a young guy, probably is his 20's get out and go inside, order his food and walk back out and leave....this was over the coarse of 7-8 min.

I always want to say something to people or do something non violent to get their attention that I noticed something that they were doing that is wrong... Do you guys speak out? do anything? or just figure its useless to try and teach ignorant people anything?

As crazy as people are now a days it probably best to just say nothing. Stuff like that pisses me off but if they aren't ashamed of there actions then your opinion won't change anything.

I don't; it's not worth the effort, angst, or possible ass-kicking since I'm a hefty 5-6 @ 145#. If its an emergency situation I address the appropriate authorities and act accordingly... but if someone is double parked or something similar, I just glare and keep on going.

I would also like to note that in the event that I slip up and do something dumbassed, I don't want some fool accosting me over it.

This, it's not worth the trouble or your time, it will only start an argument or worse and likely won't affect their outlook on the subject.

You can only hope that one day they will be in this situation.

I usually make a smart ass comment... but as others have said these days its rather pointless and dangerous.
A year or so ago a buddy and I were heading to grab some Taco Hell on Wendover, while passing the walmart a guy swerves across all 3 lanes of traffic and almost hits us...
We pull up beside and I yelled something like "Way to go dumbass"
The douchebag followed us to taco bell, we thought nothing of this until he parks and pulls a pistol out... My friend and I were both unarmed, words were exchanged and he left but it could have been a lot worse and it could have been avoided if I had kept my mouth shut.

Sometimes I wish I was more outspoken.

This is why I carry a gun. Though, I would never pull a gun out on someone just for calling me a dumbass. I have had several times where I wanted to write and leave a note on the persons car for taking up 2 spaces, parking too close to me, etc. Wifey won't let me though and puts up a big fit if i start to.

Well if I've got pants on I have a gun on me. I carry for protection. Best way to avoid needing protection is to avoid confrontation. Too many people start carrying a gun and think they can run off at the mouth Cuz they be packin. Can't stand somebody that pulls a gun as a scare tactic. If you pull a gun on me you better be ready to use it. And hope its made of chocolate because I'm gonna make you eat it.

Probably for the best I didn't have a gun on me that day... Anyone stupid enough to pull a gun on 2 guys in the taco bell parking lot in broad day light with witnesses is a special case and I probably would have pulled the trigger.
Though I am not saying it wouldn't have been a community service...

I have no problem wedging my jeeps into the half space of a double parker so they can't open their door and have to go through the passenger side.
I have yet to have my tires slashed and I drive beater jeeps everywhere so not like Ill care too much if it gets keyed.

since you were the first to say something even if they pulled a gun on you you would still be at fault

Hard to make that call. If you call someone a dumbass and they pull a gun on you... then in self defense you put 2 in their chest...

Well its gonna be really hard for him to explain his side of the story from the grave.

I agree with ya but the way the law is wrote if you start some kind of confrontation with someone else the law is on with them

Never start a confrontation. It's not worth the stress

Am I mistaken , arnt you the brother of the kid that got choked out in Raleigh after a road rage incident?

I didn't start a confrontation, I just called him a fucking dumbass. He's the one that started the confrontation by pulling a gun on me. I would totally put one in someone's ass if they pulled a gun on me, no matter if I started it or not. They pulled the gun first therefore they started the confrontation.

If a lawyer was arguing this case, he would most likely say that you initiated the confrontation; however, you disengaged from the confrontation by driving away, there by reinstating your right to use deadly force.

i drive a dually so i always (as you call it) double park, but i also always park way out in parking lots where very few folks park. if you wedge your jeep into the half parking space so i can't open my door you don't have worry about me slashing your tires or keying your jeep.that is the kinda shit punks do,however you will find me sitting on my tailgate waiting on your smart ass.

There is a difference in someone in a BMW pulled in sideways at the front of a parking lot and someone with a big truck parking in the rear of the lot IMO. Most spots aren't made for a full size truck much less one that's a Dually or a long bed truck.

One in the same.

I don't go looking for trouble or anything like that. I just feel like if I don't say anything, how will they learn?

It really boils my blood when I see some worthless doing whatever they see fit and no one calling them out on it.

Growing up, I remember many times my dad would point out asshats to me, parked in handicap spots w/o the permit. He would say something like"look at this guy, in too much of a hurry or just too lazy to find a regular parking spot". The best times were when the people were within earshot. There were never any confrontations, just some pissed off stares...a lot of times people aren't expecting to get called out

I will always remember back in 95 my dad bought a brand new Dakota with a v8 and a manual transmission. He used to light em up and get it sideways for about a couple hundred foot in front of the house. One day he did it and one of the neighbors said "good job, asshole!". My dad replied out the window while hauling ass "blow me!". Ahh, good times.

In my CHP class, I was told if you started a fight with words or fists, the new law states, if the person you are arguing with pulls a gun or knife he has just accelerated the fight to deadly force and you can do what ever is needed to stop the new threat to your life.

Back to the First question; I have called the Police Dept. a couple of times. My little village, has a Food Lion shopping center, with a few other businesses & a Little Caesars. Police don't have much to do,& usually respond in 5 minutes, or ask the Fire Dept. to drop in on the offenders. Fire Dept Has worked this Center several times, just can't Talk sense into dumb-asses, & I don't know if any have had an actual ticket. Favorite spot is the Pizza place = parking lot can be empty, but they park in the Fire Lane!:flipoff:

Cool Story. I don't feel that I should need to be overly specific... but if you park in the back end of the lot and drive a dually... chances are you aren't part of the problem.
I am glad you referred to those people as "Punks" because those are the exact type of people I would be engaging in the parking lot with their cars parked diagonal or dead center of 2 spots in the front few rows because they think they are more important than everyone else.
When I am towing, I park in the far end of the lot and take up several spaces sometimes depending on the setup I am hauling.
Anytime I drive a truck I look for a space in the back or to the side and back in, I don't mind the walk and it makes it easier to leave.

Sounds an awful lot like my Dad...

Here is my thing....these cops want to give out tickets and protect the law....All they need to do is call me up...Ill tell them where to sit and I bet they give out over 250 tickets in one day. I work right at a 4 way stop entering a shopping area (grocery store, pizza hut, thai place, etc) I see cars going right through the stop signs, parking in front of places for 20-30 min in a fire lane and my side of town is crawling with cops....its almost like it isn't worth their time.
