Outspoken to Strangers?

Not sure I understand. If a motorcycle rider is obeying the laws and speed limits there is no difference in my actions than if they were driving a car.

What I see gets most motorcycle riders killed is their own personal blatant disregard for the law, riding 2 or 3 wide or well over the speed limit then blaming others for not "looking twice"...Now merge on accidents are real and not a riders fault. But if they are riding "as far right as possible" as required by state law then they have more time to react and evade.

Riding far right as possible isn't a state law. We actually have the right to the entire lane. If I'm wrong feel free to prove it

Actually the number one cause of motorcycle accidents is people pulling out in front of them.

Your right on one point. There are some idiotic riders out there

This Is the exact same thing as a kid playing in the road.

It's their own fault.

Edit:

Actually looks like I may be incorrect here. We had an issue several years ago where this came up however it was with a bicycle. Looks like the below law only applis to mechanical bicycles. I am looking and not finding motorcyle laws. However I do know without a doubt that riding 2 or 3 wide is illegal.

SECTION 56-5-3430. Riding on roadways and bicycle paths.
(A) Except as provided in subsection (B), every bicyclist operating a bicycle upon a roadway shall ride as near to the right side of the roadway as practicable. A bicyclist may, but is not required to, ride on the shoulder of the roadway in order to comply with the requirements of this subsection.
(B) A bicyclist may ride in a lane other than the right-hand lane if only one lane is available that permits the bicyclist to continue on his intended route.
(C) When operating a bicycle upon a roadway, a bicyclist must exercise due care when passing a standing vehicle or one proceeding in the same direction.
(D) Bicyclists riding bicycles upon a roadway shall not ride more than two abreast except on paths or parts of roadways set aside for the exclusive use of bicycles.

No its not. The law allows for an provides protection for pedestrian use of a roadway. One activity is legal one is not.

You just posted said law , your kids are not exempt because they are having fun.

Throw a bat at my car and I will use said car to defend myself throughly.

There are idiot out there just like any other group. Riding two wide is just dumb. When we ride in a large group we are always staggered. Leaves much more room for error. The only time we ride double is on a parade or low speed stop and go traffic

? How are you argueing against yourself

I know you don't like me but geez that's some double standards.

25 mph is rediculous anywhere.

It's a road , teach your kids that its a road meant for driving on not playing on.

When I see kids playing in a road all I can think is how shitty of parents they have.

Sorry if your offended but that's reality. Neighborhood or not.
:shaking: :gay: :poop:

Playing In the road is a product of shitty parents. Twist and bend from the subject of PLAYING in the road all you want.

A major thoroughfare, I agree 100%. A residential street, especially in a neighborhood? It is so common that it should almost be expected for children to be playing in the street.

Duane

Being a Common occurance does not make it right.

I do expect kids to be playing in the road.

I also expect drunks to drive after a concert or ball game.

That makes it ok though, cause its common.

Injure one of my children because you feel that the posted speed limit is "rediculus" and you won't have to worry about defending yourself.
A child, pedestrian, ball, pile of construction debris, etc in the road is an impediment. Your job, as a motor vehicle operator, is to observe the impediments and adjust your driving accordingly. The speed limit is just that. The maximum allowable speed on a given road under perfect conditions. A child in the road, no matter your opinion on their upbringing, does not constitute perfect conditions so slow down.
Judging from your posts here, your parents may have avoided the dipshit part, but they seem to have stumbled headlong into asshole territory.

I never said I would hit your kid , I said they are a product of a dipshit if they are playing in the road.

Attack my vehicle with a bat like Ron proudly Said he did so and I will defend myself.

I go the speed limit even though it is ridiculously low to protect morons.

Yes I am an asshole. Thanks

Every comment made so far but daunes is all emotion with no logic.

Take responsibility of your kids its not my job. I wish parents would do so.

Actually, other than explaining to you how the situation would be handled if you screwed up my post was all logic. If you follow the speed limit and aren't going to hit someone' s kid then what are you arguing about? The thread wasn't talking about you. So you can step way back down off of your high horse and continue on feeling that you know all about whether someone who allows their child to play in their own neighborhood is or is not taking responsibility for them.

WOW, I must have grown up in a shitty neighborhood, shitty town, shitty state, There wasn't a week gone by in the summer where my neighborhood I and damn near EVERY kid were in the street playing kickball, riding skateboards, bicycles, kick the can at night, or what ever the fawk it was that kids do, granted, there were a few incidents of flaming tennis balls that made their way down the hill and around the bend, but those were isolated occurrences a LONG time ago ( this is not an admission of guilt ) no damage done other that a few warmed asses when our parents found out.

Kids in the street is part of a neighborhood, I find it sad that I DON'T see kids playing in the street or yards anymore, THAT is the shitty parenting, letting the TV, PS3, Xbox, tend to their kids instead of instilling a healthy lifestyle OUTSIDE and having to watch them OUTSIDE.

I resent you calling my parents "shitty" you haven't a clue who how or what they are and how they raised my siblings and myself.

the sad part about the idiots who disregard the speed limit in subdivisions is not being able to let my kid ride her bike off our street, she is forbidden to go past the last house on our street on her bike because of the idiots on the main road, which BTW, is no wider than ours, has no markings of any kind other than SPEED LIMIT signs.

The suck in this thread is epic! Yet, another way for me to learn who not to associate with.
Meh.

Damn...I really wanted to hang with a dude from Compton Elder Sitting a Badass! Granny...now you dont like me :(

Cory, you really bring the win. You'd argue with a fence post wouldn't you?

Please go back and read this thread and other threads with an open mind and notice that more often than not you are the only one on your side of the argument. What does that tell you?

I had to crawl out the back glass of the Bronco more than once so Shawn could park in what was left of the space next to some double-parked a-hole.

Same here. Sometimes I will drive past perfectly good spots to get next to them.

Several years ago, some co-workers and I pulled into a spot at walmart so that one person could run inside and grab something. We were right next to a van that was in a handicapped spot, we were not. An older guy in the van proceeds to get out, start yelling at us that we should not be parked in a handicapped spot (again, we were not). He was even so nice as to show us his pistol he kept on his side. He was getting pretty irate, but so were we. We didnt move.
