LMAO chuck...that more than makes up for that thread where you were nice to the newb.

I once had a regular cab truck with 5% on side and rear windows, It sucked at night, couldn't see a damn thing unless I rolled 'em down and opened the rear slider.
There's a reason the front side windows shouldn't be less than the 35%

Sorry to rain on your parade but I write illegal window tint tickets all the time. I use an approved tint meter and educate the driver on what is legal and what isnt. Also reflective and colored tint is illegal no matter how light or dark it is.
There is a reason for the law. Its for you and the officer's safety!

reflective tint is illegal? so the tint that has a slight picture on it is illegal when looked at from an angle?? haha, I learned something new.

The last time I had tinted windows they were well beyond what was considered legal. Got pulled over, tested with the drivers license test. Put it on the back of the window. Can't read it your too dark. ( before light meters were common) guy didn't say anything. He went back to write my ticket. Wrote the ticket and then took a razor and took one swipe through both side windows.

thats legal?? sounds like a pissed off cop...

When I was in HS the local barney fife would make you scrape them clean while he waited.....

He even wrote a friend of mine a ticket as soon as he pulled off for littering...

No one misses ole Officer Kojack

i cant believe this thread made it to three pages.

as stated before, it is for officer safety. you may not have a gun or be any threat to the officer, but if he cant see you inside the car, its harder for him to realize that. You dont want to be on the wrong end of a judgement call do you?

side note. A tint violation is a class 2 misdemeanor and a arrest able offense. So do the right thing and put on 35%.

wish you worked in raleigh.. I see 100's of cars a week that are blacked out with tint..

I probably should have added that in there, I do know that below 32% is illegal but I will have my inspectors license before inspection is due so I'm not too worried about the truck passing.

OK you are an idiot..

I know plenty of inspection folks and if they knew what you just stated on a public forum you would loose your job..

post closed but not removed so if a inspection officer decides to come on here and read this maybe you will learn your lesson
