Posers

Just to be clear, I've got nothing against the Jeep JK. I think the 4-door Jeep JK is a good looking vehicle. I wouldn't mind having one, but if I did own one, it would get wheeled and probably only look a little better than my Samurai used to look.

Absolutely would love to have one. When Jimbo put his '15 hard rock up for sale I was trying to figure out how to get my hands on it, but just too much $$$. With 2 kids in car seats a JKU is appealing.

That's a little extreme, but for the most part I agree. I just hate when people pay someone else to build something and don't even know how to turn a wrench. You need to know enough about what you have to maintain it or fix in an emergency.

I've run out of time and energy and paid a shop to do things I could have done myself. Also, I have no interest in getting into gear setup, and automatic transmissions are magic so that's two things I'll always pay someone else to do.
Hmmmm... Flashback to MCJ Windrock years ago.

Aww, leave them alone. At least they don't hark on buying American then have to go buy JK shirts, hats, coats, front license plates and stickers to plaster all over their Toyota truck. (Not knocking Toyota)

the way I look at it, when the time comes that someone wants to buy a used JK look how big of a market you will have of street driven Jeeps that haven't been beat on.

But the bro tax puts them out of reach as a sound financial decision.

for sure - you have to get an early one and deal with the 3.8 to make sense buying used. If you want 3.6 engine might as well buy new. I've done that twice now. But my comment was thinking more years down the road.

Thats true for now, but wait til the next gen comes out, and the price hits rock bottom because team poseur wants the newest version. Remember it was just a few years ago when the going rate for a TJ was not much north of $5k.

On a similar note, I'd love to see the percentage of those who own 3/4 ton and larger trucks that actually use them for anything that requires more capacity than an S-10. I look at the local high schools and see diesel trucks and 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks with stacks through the bed (kinda hard to haul anything with stacks in the middle of your cargo box!) and squatted so bad that if you put a 50 lb bag of sand in the bed, the tires will rub the fender wells.

When I had my boat, I would pull it with my Dodge Daytona. It was far from ideal, but it did the job. Suprisingly, I never once spun a tire even on the steepest of ramps. I used to watch guys with big trucks spin tires on the same ramps pulling a pair of jetskis.

I guess I fall into this category these days. But I'll always drive a 3/4ton or ton 4x4 for a daily driver. My two daily drivers are a 02 F250 4x4, 7.3 powerstroke and a 93 K3500 4x4, 454. I used to tow/haul a lot when we had cattle, mostly round bales of hay and general farm equipment. Got rid of the cattle and rent out the land now. Main reason I'll always drive a larger truck is because of the room, I'm just too big of a dude to daily a small car or truck! lol Also, any truck I have will be 4x4. Just the way I am. My trucks aren't really that modded or nothing either the F250 isn't lifted, but does have a 3.5in downpipe that goes into a 5in exhaust that exits before the rear tire(no goofy tip), fuel pressure regulator shimmed, ported turbo compressor housing(stock wheel), intake heater delete and an old ass Edge tuner set to FUEL MILEAGE! The K3500 is completely stock, unless you count the air cleaner lid flipped upside down!!! lol Call me a poser if you want, but I'll always be sporting a 3/4 ton or ton 4x4.

Yeah, but you USED to need it. Most of the brodozers rolling around now will never even hook to even a lawnmower trailer. Hell, I bet most of them don't even own a hitch to slide in the receiver.

I hate how people think its their business what kind of vehicle somebody else drives.

So you're formally apologizing for all that crappie you gave me about my 6.0? :flipoff2:

plenty of posers I've been to a club deal before where guys discussed there cosmetic mods all night. All falls back to chrome don't get you home.

I suppose I'm a soccer mom poser considering I DD a 4x2 GMC Yukon XL. I have turned a few heads before. Truth be told, I love that f'n car.
People drive up behind me, go to pass, and then as they get up beside me look over and look stunned that a batshit crazy looking bearded redhead white dude is driving it.
It looks the part when pulling my boat though. (Which is 3 out of 7 days a week anyways).

I have a 96 4wd F250 ext cab PSD for a work truck and a 2wd 01 CC dually PSD for family hauling. If one of my trucks is more than 100 miles from home,90% of the time it'll have a trailer behind it.Theres times I could get by w a smaller truck but a lot of times when I go to get something I come home with more than I was planning on getting.W my trucks I don't have to worry about the weight so much, just load the trailer.

I think the Douche mobile thread on this website proves that 99% of the people on here like to make it their business what other people drive.

It just doesn't make sense to me. It would be like dating/marrying an attractive woman and not having sex with her.
