Prerun times for UNF?

Maybe just a little bit, Jason Swain who I think is ridin in the event with you ran his jeep like that for a while, just lock it in when you get to the nasty stuff, and unlock it so you can still turn, when you have an open differential, it only gives power to one wheel at a time

I would just run 2wd until you need 4wd drive
Ahh, but then it gets complicated. I have a selectable rear and a spool in the front.

1) Front wheel drive (front spool): It should turn well but climb poorly.
2) Rear wheel drive (open): It should still turn well but at one wheel drive I might find myself having trouble.
3) Rear wheel drive (locked): Capable of getting through rough stuff but lousy turning
4) Four wheel drive (open rear/front spool): It should turn fairly well, about the same as options 1 and 2 but it should get through any rough stuff fairly quickly. The only downside is that shifting from high to low range with a dana 300 is pretty slow. If I was in 2 wheel drive it would be one lever pull. From 4 low to 2 hi is three level pulls, 4 low to 4 high is four level pulls.

Anyway, I tend to overthink this sort of thing. I'll make up my mind during Wednesday's prerun.

Edit: I'm still hoping to collect on that $5 bet from Travis. 747 is a sure thing, his rig isn't going to be ready. :D

Did you go balls out on the steep down hill grade that is real rocky,(cage that is)
If you're talking about the last little down hill chute before you start coming into campsites, that was probably the slowest part of my run. It felt like things could go horribly wrong if you caught the bank wrong. I was running by myself and was trying not to go totaly balls out anywhere, but I think it was faster that way.

I'm sorry.
Yeah I know. I have a high pinion e-locker sitting in my garage but I have to modify the housing, add wiring, do something about driveshaft clearance (clock t-case, remount air shocks, something else?) it just seemed like too much to take on before the race.

We'll see, it should still be fun. It looks like I'll be prerunning by myself tomorrow.

ran it a gain a couple of times last night, hit a rock going pretty good with about 15psi in the front tires and knocked the drivers side one flat. This happened where Saw Mill (I think) turns off to the left, continued to run on the flat (figured wtf, it might happen in the race) 8:38 to the road with the flat. No tire damage, beat the bent part of the inner bead back in, aired up the tires and ran again. A clean run the 2nd time 7:50 stopping for mud puddles. There is going to be major carnage I predict.

P.S. Maxxis Tires rule!!!

Hey no problem. We noticed that the Sammy was only in 2wd, we said something, but I guess no one heard.
It was a joke, I got nothing against any off-road vehicle. As Renegade said the sammy was in 2wd and was having SERIOUS problems pulling the CJ up the hill. 4 or five of us were trying to push the jeep up the hill with the sammy pulling and we were getting nowhere.

Yeh, that was me in the white Sami. The fuel pump is so loud I can't hear crap(replacing this weekend). I didn't realize I was only in 2wd(actually 1wd). I thought the ledge was hard has hell to get up, LOL. Thanks again for the help in towing the CJ all the way out to the road.

On a side note, if the forecasted rain showers slick it up a bit, I think the place to be for spectating is going to be the ledge area. The A-class line will be interesting when really wet.

Yup, I tried it in 2 wd just to see what A class would experience and ended up in the trees. Saw a few stockers do the same thing.
I respooled the 8274 and have a fresh yellow top for yall! See yall at the ledge.:huggy:

What do ya mean 2wd, A class still got 4 wheel motion, or 3 wheel at least with an open front end
