Raleigh - 4x4 Bronco Work

Anyone on here, from Raleigh area....if you cant make it to work on it, you could always call in some pizza, wings etc...buy the work crew some food and drinks, and gain sponsorship that way. Food sponsors get a chance to win too.!!

Let Yager know if you wanna call in some food and pay for it, for the work crew.

Mike, sounds good. I SHOULD be back in town by then, but worst case you guys can just leave it in the driveway and hide the keys somewhere.

I'm going to be working on it on Monday, so if anyone has the day off and wants to come grab a beer or two and help do some taping and sanding, come on over!

Monday is the 18th. Whew, only a couple days will be left to drive it some...Oh well.
I need to start working on getting a tow for the Bronco back to Mocksville.
Maybe JC can do it tuesday.

Blaze..can you do this in a day? So it can come home monday night or Tuesday morn?

foreman - address sent in PM

blaze - np on dropping off the bronco. If we get some time we can start prepping the interior to the liner. And special grip paper to scuff it with ? (i forget what I used on my van, was a yellow finger disk thing IIRC)

carb is holly truck avenger, from speeking with ken today, it will run/idle but you have to feather it when you give throttle. So best guess is it needs a base adjustment and i'll check the timing, make sure dist. advance is working and is hooked up to ported vacuum then if needed check floats, debris etc... any thing you can think of?

That carb was donated bt Alex at Carolina Truggies. Said it had been rebuilt. Something else ended up being wrong(not the carb) with the engine it WAS on...so it prolly does need some tuning.

You can give him a shout for all the info about it...1 704 564 0499

ok cool, ill give him a shout if needed, my only concern was that it would at least run the engine, which it has, that means its not to bad...

If it's an old model, they had a problem with stumbling off-idle and Holley replaced a bunch of them.

Otherwise, might mess with the AP cam. Give holley a call, their tech line is pretty good.

If nothing else, I've got a box with 50 different sizes of holley jets, some different pump nozzles, and a wideband o2 setup and we can look at it next friday...

^^^next friday, at the race?? Look us up, if by some chance it's not running well...you can help try to tune it at the race..if ya dont mind.

I feel confident that Yager will get it running well enough to race.

Mike, hit it with some rough sandpaper. Should be fine. I'll run over it quickly with the cup brush anyway just to be sure. If you could maybe yank the stuff that isn't needed to move it around so I have less to remove it would be great.

Should be ready to haul on Tuesday.

Damn I realllllly want to make this, I couldn't last weekend. If I do get out there this weekend I will probably be driving a 16' box truck with a lift gate.... need anything?

Yager I will let you know if I am in for sure.

Might be more of a fuel pump issue than carb if you have to feather it to get to do more than idol. Maybe it's not getting enough fuel? Might gravity feed it to test. Also could be electrical component (ignition).

That does sound liek a pump problem, thsi is exactly what the $30XJ did when I got it, replacing the pump was the only thing that fixed it. Might try a quick fuel pressure test?

Ok..as of right now, I have JC all set to pick up the Bronco and deliver it to me on Tuesday the 19th.

If anyone up that way sees a problem with that...please please let me know ASAP.

Right now, I am assuming it will be at Blaze's place and will have JC mapquest and pick it up there.

Need to know if this is correct.

I just hope Yager can work his magic cause I could not get it to start tonight :)

PS: the optima dies after about 8 tries trying to start the bronco so Dylan you may want to use some of that extra money to buy a NEW battery.

FYi.. anyone going to Yagers this weekend bring a can or two of Black paint so you can paint rock rails, and under the rig.. there still is some fresh metal under there that needs to be painted or it will rust bad.

I have two cans of black paint I'll bring.
I can pick up more if needed?
I could also pick up one of the truck bed style spray cans that has the texture if that would be good?

I'm fairly sure I won't be there right at 7, but will be there AM'ish.

(probably ~9 or so would be my guess from previous wake up times after going out night before)

could someone pm me yagers addy? i will be heading up to raleigh on sat for the george strait concert and could hopefully make it up around mid morning to help on the bronco.

im a really good tool bitch

Spray away Blaze....let me know what the total time and money involved is. I already have you listed for for the spray, but if you have to spend extra..I will compensate for that, in chances

Bronco is sitting outside my house. Ken, John and the others did a great job on the paint, harnesses and other items they worked on. Still lots to do.
