Random pic thread.

Finally hauled something with the new truck today.

4 yards was enough to get the front of the house done.

But the best part was the learning that you can use the dump bed as a slide! :D

That looks 1,000 times better than that God aweful blazer/1500 hybrid thing that popped up a while back.

Dude that built it is in one of my groups...absolutely astounding skill and craftsmanship. The market has seen a couple ridiculous NOS restorations and sub-1000 mile survivors sell for $75-100k here recently. Most of us thought it would settle in that range, with the purists saying $50k and some of the SD swap gurus saying $125k...really don’t think anyone saw nearly $175k coming...thats Ring Bros EB money. I honestly didn’t think the market could support that price tag on a restomod. But to be honest, I thought the $50k LMC Bronco from 5 years ago was the top of the mark too.

Don’t know if it’s the real deal, but my dad is in Myrtle beach for the car show and he just snapped a picture of this 69 mercury cyclone Cale Yarborough. I’ve never seen one in person. The google machine says they only made 617 and only 41 had the 428. Only made in 69 and all the same paint scheme. If it’s legit, that’s a 6 figure car. Pretty cool.

Cale Yarboro has one in his showroom in Florence last time I was in there many years ago. I believe it's the one he raced too. I've seen some crazy stuff on the road like that and wondered if it was real....

I just realized your sidings don't match... What the hell man? I'd be twitching every time I pulled up the driveway
To quote your sig...
:flipoff2:

Did you get that from Gaston Co. Landfill? It's free on certain Saturday's.
No. Did that once before about 15 years ago and am still finding pieces of trash where we put it out, even though the mulch is long gone.

I assume you are talking about the color? I tried to talk the wife into it while we were already spending a bazillion dollars building the white house, but she refused to spend the money. We will probably get it painted in the next couple years and redo the trim and front windows to match.

What really bugs me is that the gray house is textured side out, and the white house is smooth. Women

I dunno since the texture is opposite matching colors screams mistake. Being opposing spectrums and finish texture whispers style.
I think as is looks purposeful. The "fix" would actually mess with me more.

Finally figured out the correct position for Dodge tow mirrors.

Picked these GM style ones up on ebay for $250. Should be able to sell the OEM ones for $350-400ish. Having come from a long line of Ford Superduty mirrors, I hated the Dodge mirrors. These work a lot better in my opinion, and don't scream LOOK AT ME.

And if anybody wants some OEM Ram Chrome mirrors with Puddle Light and signal, PM me. ;)

Been looking at trucks. The mirrors are almost a deal killer on the RAMS. I like those you got there.

I guess it's one of those things where it depends what you're used to. I didn't like using the mirrors on the 08 f250 I used to drive alot but I am used to my 07 rams mirrors. Although I very rarely even flip mine out because most things I tow are on open trailers and don't have a need.

Some people love em (see above, haha). I thought they looked goofy in the ghost trailer, flatbiller position, but I assumed that was what worked better. Now that I own one, I realized that better still wasn't very good. I think most of the people who love em have just owned Dodges and are used to it. I've tried to like em for months, but the blind spot mirror is too distorted, and the big square mirror isn't convex enough.

I wouldn't say I necessarily like the Ram mirrors, but I've never had any issues with them. I do wish the blind spot mirror was powered though (I think it is on the 19+ trucks?). But if I were to get a truck without tow mirrors I would definitely put the GM ones on before putting on Ram ones. Did you wire up the backup lights? Those things are sweet.

I haven’t ever owned a different brand tow rig and therefore I just got used to what I have had. I never found that the rear view capability I had fell short of what I needed. I’m also a bit more “pay attention” to my surroundings as I drive so never felt like I was lacking. Maybe I’m missing out but, ignorance is bliss??

Driven every brand and the tow mirrors on each truck work just fine never wished one was on a different truck. Only thing is I can't stand the RAM mirrors in the flipped down position trailer or no trailer so miche stay up all the time.

Not yet. It came with some extra wires, but no instructions, so I assume that is what they are for.

Cerakote lens restore, not bad, probably one of a dozen products out to do similar, certainly cheaper than replacing the assembly’s on this ride
