If you'd be interested in any of these to finish that out considering the price of lumber nowadays, let me know

Definitely tempting. Though I think the wife wants a different wood in the other rooms once we finish out whats left of the white pine, but I may need a little more to finish the main room.

I'm not doing much with these other than hauling them off to a mill or giving them to a logger to help me take some of the big ones out. If you can use some, I'm sure we could work out some kind of barter

I think Ive todl this story before but just telling it makes me laugh so Ill tell it again.

While I college I worked 2 summers for a guy Id known locally forever that had a small time electrical company. He had a partner who was an arrogant, prick, alcoholic who couldn't do shit. But Willie was one of the greatest guys Ive ever known.
Partner (Rob) would disappear for weeks at a time unreachable, then show up on jobsites, bark out nonsensical orders and then disappear again. After time Willie told us to ignore Rob. However Rob was legitimately very, very book smart. But he was so insecure he had to make damn sure everyone knew how smart he was.

I was a kid in college, but by this point I had actually had 7 or 8 years of electrical experience because Id grown up with an uncle, so despite my young age I was given small projects solo or with a helper and trusted to knock them out. We were doing an instrucment panel in an operator office at a chemcial plant in Fort Mill. Essentially they had installed a bunch of sensors and probes and - since this was before the days of buy a $1,000 digital touch screen - we were given unistrut to build a rack and a sheet of 4x8 stainless to mount about 60 gauges and mini displays to and to install critical process parameter warning lights on. Essentially here are the gauges and if the light is on you better look at this gauge.

Ole Rob showed up the day we were finishing up all of our terminations - we had been there 3 or 4 weeks everything was going great, the owner was super happy, this was literally the last or next to last day so he showed up to snag the glory essentially. He walked around and insulted me and my helper for 10 or 15 minutes about all sorts of things that weren't perfect, but were where the customer wanted them. "Id have ran that this way"...well the customer asked us to run it here for XYZ...but because of my age and him being the owner I just "Yes sir"ed. The owners rep who had taken a liking to us walked around with us and kept patting me on the back both verbally and literally pattting my back when he could sense me getting ill.

Finally we end up in the control room looking at the panel we had hand built. There was one process line we had to take off line to install a pressure sensor that morning, (had to shut down chem flow to open the pipe and install the sensor) and it was ramping back up, but it was a day long process and not back to op spec yet, so the warning light was illuminated.

That's the back story - Now ole Rob said 'Panel doesnt look half bad for a couple fuck ups like y'all (in front of the customer)..grrr... but tell me guys "What is that light emitting diode right there doing"...before either of us could respond the customer spoke up
"Right now its emitting light"
Silence filled the room. Rob was unwilling to admit he didnt understand their process enough to understand what the gauge was for. I was dieing inside from laughter. In short order we dispersed and he went away. That story was shared and told around the shop for weeks.

For the next ...oh what are we up to...23 years now.... every time I see WIllie - we still do business together to this day - our greeting is "Right now its emitting light"

How far apart are you guys? Maybe I need to take the truck and trailer up your way here soon. Then again, I need to find time to cut the pile of logs I have sitting beside the mill already

Wife had a fried gator craving from Razzoo’s, and we decided to walk concord mills too. Had no idea Pepper Palace existed. Stupid expensive, so i invoked my wife’s logic...buy 10 get 3 free, means I’m saving money. But it is hard to find good reaper and ghost sauces/flakes.

I have an old vacuum wagon with those same airplane tires on it. If you need replacements there is a place in texas I got wheels and tires from. I had a hellacious blow out on one with a tank full of water. It sounded like someone shot tannerite behind my tractor 😅
