My buddy was admiring my 15 year old Cold Steel Kukri, and I decided to order him one... then found out they don't make them anymore. But CRKT does.

The CRKT one beats my old Cold Steel one hands down, in every category except the sheath. The Sheath sucks.

I'll probably buy one of these for myself, so if any of you know a good leather worker, I'll be needing a Cold Steel style sheath for it.

Never. Have you seen how long I keep stuff? :laughing:

I've heard reports of as low as 800hrs, and as high as 3-4k or something crazy. I'd believe both. Crusher run size gravel can wreak havoc on it if it gets up in the wheels. Also skidding across rocks and other sharp abrasive stuff is hard on the tracks (true of all machines, not just ASVs). Mine has about 1500hrs on it, but I swear to PO never cleaned a single thing under it, and that wreaked havoc on the big idler wheels and the track frame (wear from mud and rocks dragging, you probably saw the pics earlier in the list thread). The other SR80 in the pic has 1100hrs, tread depth is still good, bogies/idlers/bearings/seals appear to be good, but its a 2006 model and the tracks are dry-rotting and the drive lugs are breaking off. New ones look like this:

Not nearly as rusted as mine was, so hopefully everything else is better too.

The CRKT blade isnt half what the old cold steel is/was.

@jeepinmatt knows this stretch of road coming onto the island.
Neighbor “who’s in the know” said 3 high school girls were in it and admitted they were all using their phones to take pics. At least they were honest ?!? Fortunately no one was hurt
