I’m trying to figure out what engine it had. No VW Bug had a motor that hauled ass…..

Back in the 80s I knew a VW mechanic in Cary that had a VW drag car. He would run it at the Roxboro dragstrip. He won many races w his car against V8s. It would stand up and run down the strip with the front tires in the air!.

I use to do that with a manual can opener to make pencil holders.
