Scored big today this stuffs about as hard to find as a squatch

I had no idea, but it looks like Optima only makes one group 34/78 red top (and it's the highest amperage Red Top they make), and both my old and new are rated on the C-20 spec (which I didn't even know existed until you asked this question :D).
Year 2001 2016
Model 34/78 34/78
CA 1050 1000
CCA 830 800
AH 56 50
ResCap 112 100
Cost ~$150 $200

I guess cheapening and outsourcing to China has affected everything, even overpriced batteries.
They are Mexican not Chinese!

Eh, close enough. Ignore the China part, just more about the principle of outsourcing for the sake of profits with no concern for quality and long term brand value. I see it every day. The new Redtop says "Distributed by Optima Batteries, Inc Milwaukee, WI" whereas my old one said "Made in USA" with the USA part proudly displayed in red, white, and blue!

After they were bought by Johnson Controls or whoever (I can't remember who bought them), they're probably being made in part/whole at a international facility somewhere, or US made with "globally sourced components". Nothing particularly wrong with that, although we all have our preferences about which countries should/shouldn't be making those globally sourced components. I'm more okay with most places that aren't China, although completely US-made would be ideal.

Me and Jake were in Nashville Fri and had a little time before we needed to head home, hit up Music row and saw some of the tourist traps.Steve Miller was playing @ the Ryman but it was sold out.

I still don't get the tobacco basket trend. I don't have a house full of things with carved pineapples on them either, so I'm pretty sure I'm not rustic enough to be the target audience.

You should paint them white and charge people extra, and save them a step on their way to Pinterest nirvana.

Paintin them would hurt em,everybody has different taste and it don't matter what I did somebody wouldn't like it.This county was the largest tob producer in the state back in the day so the locals don't get it either.
